Xbox one s

i have heard that the xbox one s should be a little more powerful then the old xbox one, so i was thinking does this mean that some games could potentially go from 720p to 900p like the ps4?

Let's discuss gaming on a projector!

I will start off that I don't care that much about resolution, but about size, used to game on a laptop hooked via hdmi to a 42", scaled pretty bad, but it was better imo simply because it was bigger.

With my hdmi tv setup I had zero input lag, now I'm looking for a 720p projector, that's all I need, not to mention high resolutions make me a worse player, I remember back in 06 I got a big tv for xbox and was blown away by the 720p but was then turned off by the fact that I played way worse as turning around was slower.

Trying to build a simple rig for my son - Kill the Xbox!

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

Gaming and video streaming, mostly youtube. gamnes cover everything from overwatch to minecraft to skyrim.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

$600 but I'd like to go as low as possible.

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

ASAP

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)

I need Processor (intel 1155 socket to use the MOBO I have) GPU PSU Harddrive I have an SSD need one for storage

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

Missouri, no access to a microcenter

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

Mobo ASrock p67 extreme4 Gen3 RAM Gskill ripjaws 4x2 ddr3 1333 Case Corsair 600 full ATX cooling Kuhler 620 cpu cooler Monitor Qnix 2710LED 1440

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

no

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

I would like to be able to use the qnix 1440 but I'll lower it to 1080 or even 720 (tv as a monitor if needed) I want games to never dip below 45 FPS.

Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

No, I have a copy of 10

So MS had some issues with the law, back in the day when we still gave a fuck about monopolies, antitrust, and forcing your customers into things. How the FUCK can they get away with the ONLY ways to watch Netflix 1080p/PC being one of two MS-owned products. It's the Win10 app, Edge, or fuck you?

At a friend's place right now, little media server Win 7 PC (laptop) is connected to a 60-inch 1080p TV-but he chose not to upgrade to Win10. So no Netflix app or Edge for us here. Dunno how well this PC would run 10 anyway, its got barely 3GB of RAM. Generally does a damn fine job of playing 1080p video on a bigger screen through it's HDMI though, better than the dusty dead Xbox 360 is managing.

So here we are forced to watch 720p Netflix on a huge screen and it looks like dogshit.

Is this the point where I'm supposed to rush out and buy an Xbox One now?

How is this legal? Not to mention everything else they've been doing, just updating your PC to another OS for you, (incoming) changing or even disabling policies in the Group Policy Editor on everything except the Enterprise Edition (generally unavailable to you and me by any means except piracy, we certainly can't buy it on the Store anyway), the telemetry and lack of ways to configure it in all except Enterprise editions, etc..

Everything they ever tried with Internet Explorer was babysteps compared to this shit.

So why do they get away with it now?

Serious question.

Considering Upgrading My 22 Inch TV From 720p to 1080p - What To Expect For 360 Graphics?

As the title suggests, I'm currently gaming on an Xbox 360 using a 22 inch Phillips LCD TV. The TV specs are:

-LCD technology

-1080i/720p resolution

-60Hz refresh rate

-8ms response rate

I'm looking to upgrade to the Xbox One S later this year (holiday season most likely), but for now I'm finishing up my 360 library. I noticed that my TV is quite dated, so I'm looking at upgrading my TV this month in preparation for upgrading my console. The proposed upgrade is to buy the Ben QRL 2455HM gaming monitor. The specs are:

-LED technology

-1080p resolution

-60Hz refresh rate

-1ms response rate

My questions are:

-While the upgrade is largely for the upgraded console, I am interested as to whether I will notice an increase in picture quality for Xbox 360 games? I am quite interested about picture quality difference in the upgraded resolution and faster response rate. Purchasing the monitor now is tempting if it will improve picture quality - I am often disappointed with how some 360 titles look on 720p resolution (though I don't know if 1080p will actually help much).

-Bonus Question: when I buy the Xbox One S, will the difference in TV be quite noticeable for the proposed upgrade? That is, can I justify spending a couple hundred for this TV upgrade? I'm not so sure what I have to gain at this moment because I haven't ever tried an Xbox One thus far.

-Double-bonus Question: Given the specs of the proposed monitor I chose, are there any foreseeable limitations for console gaming that I should be aware of that I'd be subjected to? Please note that I don't currently own a desktop, so this monitor would strictly be for console gaming (ruling out any limitations related to 60Hz refresh rate, as consoles are capped at this). I'm selecting the console and monitor combination to hopefully be my first and last purchase for this generation of Xbox consoles, unless I learn otherwise.

For those interested, here are some websites for the TV I currently use and the gaming monitor I'm considering:

Looking for Gears 1's E3 2006 trailer in hi-res/720p

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ldcVTmfQ8I

Yes, I know it's on Youtube and I could just download from there, but the ones uploaded in 2006 are not in HD and I have no idea where the recent ones came from. So basically, what I'm looking for is the original file that was uploaded to the net. I'm doing a bit of an archive work here so I need it in its original state at the highest quality possible.

There are two versions of the file; a 360p low qt version and a 720p high qt version, first uploaded on May 9 2006. All the 720p high quality version I've found are around 28mb and the first 10 or so seconds are cut short for some reason, so those are all duds and should be avoided.

I think the only place you can get it in its original state would be from the Xbox Live Marketplace but I can't download from there because of region restrictions. Can anyone download it from there and upload it to mediafire? Thanks!

Upgrading Current Dated TV For Future Xbox One Purchase (Current 360 User, Questions Related To TV Performance)

Hello,

I'm currently gaming on an Xbox 360 using a 22 inch Phillips LCD TV. The TV specs are:

-LCD technology

-1080i/720p resolution

-60Hz refresh rate

-8ms response rate

I'm looking to upgrade to the Xbox One S soon, as going the 4K television/Scorpio route seems too expensive (I'm a student). I noticed that my TV is quite dated, so I'm looking at upgrading my TV in the next month (and using it with my 360 for now - question related to this below). The proposed upgrade is to buy the Ben QRL 2455HM gaming monitor. The specs are:

-LED technology

-1080p resolution

-60Hz refresh rate

-1ms response rate

My questions are:

-Will I notice an increase in picture quality for Xbox 360 games? I've been playing my 360 a lot lately, and will continue to play it for at least another 5 months, perhaps more depending on when I get my Xbox One S. I am quite interested about picture quality. If there is no real difference for the 360, I may wait until Christmas/early next year to buy the monitor which may open up cheaper and better alternatives.

-When I buy the Xbox One S, will the difference in TV be quite noticeable for the proposed upgrade?

-Given the specs of the proposed monitor I chose, are there any foreseeable limitations for console gaming that I should be aware of that I'd be subjected to? I'm selecting the console and TV combination as my first and last purchase for this generation of Xbox consoles, unless I learn otherwise.

Nintendo Could Sweep THREE Markets with the NX.

I'm going to speculate - with the recent rumor from EuroGamer in mind - what the NX might be, what it is capable of and why I think it's a genius move (if true).

Firstly, what it is.

The portable device will not only be a handheld console, so to speak, but after detaching the controller add-ons it becomes a 'phablet' (Over-sized smartphone). With a 5.7-6" 1280x720 screen, perhaps 1360x768.

Nintendo will have their own OS running on the phablet that supports other cellular carriers (strictly via SIM, no modifications). It will grant access to the eShop and also the Google Play Store, in which they will also capitalize on the success of Pokémon GO and feature their other smartphone games too. With the instant massive library in the Google Play Store.

This alone will take a steaming turd on the Mobile industry and Nintendo takes the cake. Simply because it's not only a phablet, but also Nintendo's dedicated portable device with their high quality titles available only on the NX. This is what I think Ubisoft were talking about when saying it will recapture the Wii's casual audience, by snatching up the Smartphone demographic.

A powerful portable device, that is also a smartphone. This portable device will already be 4 times more powerful than the Wii U in terms of raw graphical performance thanks to the Tegra X1 - and it's portable. A native 720p screen resolution will allow for even more headroom in power. Which I think will also contain around 2-3, maybe 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Tegra X1's default configuration.

Nintendo once again dominates the handheld console market, what's left of it anyway.

~

Now, the console market.

Remember the Supplemental Computing Device patent? The base unit that is said to be a part of the NX could very well be a reference to this. However, since the portable device alone can run everything the NX will have to offer, the SCD will be sold separately and be a choice. To spread out the consumer costs of the NX as a whole.

The SCD could quite simply contain the processing power of the NX (Tegra X1) and already match, or slightly more powerful than the PS4 Neo's rumored specifications. The raw power of the X1 is around 1.2TFLOPs, so the portable alone would be pretty strong. (Xbox One is 1.3TFLOPs, Emily Rogers anyone?). A single SCD would allow for rendering games at native 1080p on your TV with some additional graphical and other computational improvements. Perhaps more SCDs will allow 4K?

We all know Nintendo loves their hardware add-ons (N64DD, plethora of SNES Coprocessor attachments etc.)

Because of this SCD technology, Nintendo will essentially futureproof their console by simply allowing additional SCDs to be attached to one another - beating out anything Sony and Microsoft can throw at them from a hardware power standpoint. Eventually I would assume Nintendo will make more powerful SCDs available (perhaps a 2-in-1 configuration), so as to avoid huge stacks of SCDs.

I would assume the SCDs will work together with the hardware inside the portable to share calculations that need to be computed. Using perhaps a wireless form of Thunderbolt technology? Or perhaps when you want to use the SCDs you have to attach the portable to the SCDs like a dock and use separate controllers.

There is also some speculation that the NX may even contain the illusive Tegra X2. It's been around for a while but used in nothing. Since the X2 is supposed to use the new Pascal architecture, it wouldn't surprise me that the NX will use a modified/down-spec version of it to take advantage of the brilliant TDP the architecture offers over Maxwell - this is the stuff Nintendo drools over.

~

Nintendo could also capitalize on collectors by making themed controller attachments instead of basic white or black ones. Different colours, artwork or even button layouts - Gamecube themed with Octagonal sticks? One can dream.

Price-wise, I think the portable alone will be around £200-250/$250-300 as it is the main attraction. SCDs could be around £90-120/$120-150 since they're simply raw hardware boxes that have a single purpose.

~

Anyway, I hope that was coherent; I literally wrote this as I processed it in my head. What are your thoughts?

1080p Gaming for grandmother and our Saturday Get-Togethers

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

  • I managed to get my 81 year old grandmother into playing video games with an Xbox One in May of last year. She's just your classic old British woman, and it was rather unexpected that she took an interest in games. I think the graphics of modern games provided an easy entry point for her, so now I go over to her house every Saturday and play some games. I had been using an Xbox One, but transporting it every week for 13 months has damaged the hard drive. I've had a little Intel NUC kit that I built for her to check email on over there, and we've been using that to survive off of Skyrim (720p, low settings with performance mods, 30FPS) and Shovel Knight for the last 3 Saturdays. We need a new system, and she likes the Xbox One S a lot (We watched E3 this year together), but for $300 I feel like it may not be a perfect solution. She was willing to pay for it, but now I've decided to match that from my salary so we can get a nicer, $600 gaming PC, the reason being she loves open RPGs and I want us to be able to play The Witcher and Skywind at 60FPS together. I would really appreciate the help, since her and I don't get to do a lot else due to her bad knee, and Saturday has become my favorite day of the week decapitating bandits with my Nana.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

  • Around $550-600 USD

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

  • As soon as possible

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc)

  • Just the Tower and the OS, and maybe a wireless gamepad recommendation

Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?

  • United States, Georgia, and my university is literally 1 mile from a Microcenter.

If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.

  • I can use the Microsoft Mouse 4000 and 200GB M.2 SSD from the NUC if needed.

Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?

  • Nah. This'll sit in a nice open cavity behind the TV, but I don't want it toasting the cable box in there all the same.

Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

  • Ideally, I'd love a GTX 1060 or something comparable. Not super interested in VR, since it's still expensive and in an infant stage, but I cannot deny that the thought of my grandmother playing on a Vive is enticing enough to get a future-proof GPU.

Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?

  • I really don't care about design, as long as performance is good for ~$600

Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

  • Windows 10 Home if possible

Extra info or particulars: not a thing. Thanks for the help, guys.

Games don't go above 61fps

Okay so I have been having this problem for about a week and I have exhausted all of my knowledge of what might be able to fix my issue. I'll try to explain this as simply as possible so hopefully someone can help me stop pulling my hair out. Here goes.

Problem: I have a 144hz monitor. Games I play WILL NOT go above 61.5 fps. I would like them to go above that again so I don't miss out on a nice feature of my monitor.

P.S. I do not mean "they may hit 61.5 fps occasionally but they are running lower than that" I mean they have a ceiling of like 61.5 - 61.7. For an example, Devil May Cry 4 benchmark usually runs around 350fps. It currently will lock at 61.6 and not move for the entire duration.

Information you may or may not need:

  • Running Windows 10 pro (updated)

  • GTX 770 (drivers up to date)

  • 2 monitor setup. Primary monitor is ASUS VG248QE (running the windows 8 drivers because asus doesn't have any for windows 10), second screen is Viewsonic VA2431wm

  • I don't know exactly when this issue started because I hadn't had more than maybe 15 minutes of computer time so I didn't play any games more demanding than FTL. I do know that the issue was not present when I had windows 7 and also was not present after upgrading to windows 10. I have made no hardware changes to my computer at all since upgrading to windows 10.

  • When I go to testufo rather than locking into 144hz, it will bounce between 65 and 71 give or take.

What I have done in attempts to fix this problem:

  • Checked display adapter properties. It is set to run at 144hz. It is at least running above 60 because windows drag around smoother than my other monitor.

  • Nvidia control panel has it set to 144hz as well

  • I have tried setting vsync in the Nvidia control panel to On, Off, Adaptive, and application controlled

  • I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the device drivers for both the graphics card and monitors

  • I did a windows 10 upgrade again to basically get a fresh install of windows programs? (its what microsoft support suggested)

  • I tried 2 different DVI cords in both DVI slots on my card as well as Display Port

  • I reset the monitor to factory default settings

  • tried only having my 144hz monitor plugged in

  • in nvidia control panel I have tried setting preferred refresh rate to both application controlled and highest available

  • have tried multi-display/mixed gpu acceleration on all its settings

  • have tried running in 720p, no changes to FPS cap

  • I completely removed the xbox DVR whatever windows 10 app

  • I have checked with shadowplay on and off

I probably tried some other things but I cannot remember at this moment. I will edit to add anything else I may think of.

I am willing to try just about anything at this point. 60 fps is all fine and dandy, and with a 770 its not like I'm expecting to hit 144 in every game I play, but in the games that I can get that amount, it just feels so much better to play and I don't feel like I paid a premium on my monitor price for a feature I don't use.

Thank you all in advance for any suggestions or solutions.

$500-$600 Build Help

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Casual/medium use. I will play games like CS, possibly LoL and other first person shooters/strategy games. I am in a video production class in school so hoping it could possibly handle Premier as well.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

Decent graphics on medium-high settings. I'm upgrading from a xbox so basically anything above 720p 60fps will do.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

$500-$600 (okay if it goes a little bit over, just want to be shopping smart here)

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

USA

Do I need a HD AV Pack for 480p on Xbox Original?

Hello,

I've bought a modded PAL Xbox Original which is able to use 480p, 720p and 1080i resolutions. I'm owning a component cable which I bought for my PS2, and my plan was to just disconnect my PS2 and connect the Xbox.

Am I able to use 480p resolution? Because I've read about a HD AV Pack which seems to be needed to use 720p and 1080i - But do I need it for 480p too? Or is my normal component cable enough?

Would be a sh't if I need a HD AV Pack too, because I didn't buy one and I don't know where to buy one in germany. I didn't find any on ebay germany, only from other countries with high shipping cost and like 2-3 weeks for shipping.

Best regards,

Ideas for new Sony Vita 2 (I prefer to rename it to Playstation Ultra Portable, PUP or just Ultra)

PS. This is the version 3. I removed the unpopular suggestions and I put lot of new ones. I think it's really amazing now!

Summary: True cross platform, true retro compatibility, New buttons, screen recording and streaming for youtube, better UI, Up scaling, much stronger platform.

My wishes for Sony Vita 2.

What I want?

  • All digital Vita 2 games will be playable at (compatible with) PS4. So, Vita 2 will born with more than 40 million devices, counting with PS4 and PS4 Neo. The developers will love the huge amount of potential cosumers and the users will get a lot of benefits. I think everyone will love that too. True Cross plataform on Sony.

  • Greater screen, between 5.2 and 6 inches.

  • 16gb or 32gb internal memory, its to start playing, besides memory card slot. Sizes for all tastes.

  • Multi user support, like PS4 have, at least 4 accounts/users.

  • 720p resolution screen (this means about 245 ppi at 6 inches or 267 ppi at 5.5 inches, better than Vita 1 with 220 ppi at 5 inches)

  • Full PSP and Vita 1 Compatibility. I know PS3 compatibility is impossible.

  • R2 and L2 included, finally.

  • Option to choose preferred UI, including PS4(older PSP) and Vita's UI.

  • "Share button" to take screenshots and make native screen recording or streaming like PS4 has. This will boost videos on youtube. Free marketing is the best marketing any company can have.

  • "Multiplayer button" to easily invite friends to match, look for friends playing online games at the moment, send voice messages to your favorite friends.

  • Upscaling PSP and Vita 1 games to 720p.

  • Ability to organize games in folders, like games for you sister, brother, special friends, etc...

  • Very good battery endurance, 2X Vita's length.

Maybe Features:

  • Phone calling: The reason is because Nintendo just patented (End of 2015) a new handheld with phone calling functions. It really can make calls.

  • Amoled screen: Have you ever noticed Samsung tablets with amoled screen are lighter and with better battery endurance than their tablets with ips screens? I had.

  • Native 3D Screen.

  • VR Cinematic Mode compatibility. This feature will be amazing for PS4.

  • Possibility to transform Vita 2 into VR? It has screen, sound, battery, games... It's not too hard to imagine...

  • Pop up screen to show camera callings or youtube videos.

Features I don't want, of course, with reasons:

  • REMOVE: Rear touchpad. It isn't successful on Vita 1 and we need to cut costs. Of course, games with rear touchpad must be adjusted for Vita 2.

  • 3D camera and useless features: they are expansive and unpopular.

Why it will be a successful?

1) PS4 and PS4 Neo will push hard Vita 2 to sucess. Vita 2 games running natively on PS4 system will boost sellings and developers making games for it. Vita 2 system will starts on more than 45 million devices (PS4 and PS4 Neo too). Just to give you a idea, this is 3 times the full amount of Vita sold.

2) Not only in software, PS Vita 2 will really be able to replace Dualshock 4, boosting a lot it sells, working like kind of elite dual shock 4 version.

3) Its a lot of platforms, officially being supported by Sony. Retrocompatibility with PSP and Vita 1.

4) 16gb Internal memory to start playing right after purchase. Nobody like to buy memory cards on day one.

5) Better Specs, more compatible games. Bigger resolution will make easier portability from Android and Ios, which means more multi platform games.

6) PSN Plus to access internet can make the device more cheaper, and increasing the payoff for users.

6) R2 L2 now, WUUUHUUU! Easier portability with old games from PS2, PS3, PS1, first xbox, xbox 360, etc, etc.

So, If you do not understand, The ecosystem will be like this:

Vita 2(or PS Ultra): Running Vita 2, Vita 1, PSP games (Starting with more than 40 milion devices)

PS4: Running PS4, Vita 2 Games

PS4 Neo: Running PS4 Neo, PS4, Vita 2 games

It's time for true integrated ecosystem guys, few games with cross buy is not enought, it is not honest with players. We need true cross platform and true retro compatibility.

Finally, why we need a new handheld? The unpopular side of this post.

1) Vita is old, 2011.

2) Vita is unpopular, fail in sells.

3) Vita is outdated and limited, can't even be used properly as a dualshock 4 replacement because of missing R2, L2.

4) Sorry, I really don't like Vita's UI. It's very childish. I want PSP/PS4's UI back. Let me choose, at least.

What do you think? Please share your ideas and opinions, but please, don't be so negative. Sorry my english, it isn't my native language.

[REQUEST][PC][Battle.Net]Diablo III RoS

Hi all! First time here and i have a little Request for you guys and girls.

I'm looking to play Diablo 3, i already have the free trial (you can play the first Act and the level cap is 17).

Why i can't buy this game?

Well, i got fired recently (My country is going through some problems/changes and the corporations are reducing their personal to keep it safe) So, now I don't have a Job, the market is very limited and I have a lot of free time (sadly) I do some tech jobs now and then but i save the money for food and bills. So I don't have money left to buy this game.

Why I want Diablo 3?

Well, i got hooked after playing Diablo II on my first PC, it was AMAZING, the gameplay is great, and soundtrack is out of this world and slaying monsters, demons, skeletons and zombies in Diablo is the most relaxing activity EVER. So, when Diablo 3 launched I got a X360 and got a copy of it to play, sadly my console was flashed and the Game gave me disc errors in ACT 2 (SPOILERS) after rescuing the old man back to Tristan.

Now, why i don't get the game again for the Xbox? Well, i Sold it because of the reasons explained above, so, no console for me. I only have my PC that is a wonderfull Celeron G1610 with 4gb of RAM and the almighty Intel HD (tbh, Diablo 3 runs great in 720p with low settings)

So here I am, thanks for reading my little backstory! And if someone could send me the game it would be great! If not, thanks anyway!

PS: Diablo 3 base would be good too!

PS2: my Battle.Net Profile: KoreanLink#1219 (Big Fan of TLoZ and the Korean is for some mechanics in League Of Legends :P)

PS3: I'm From Argentina!

Help with plex stuttering on 2nd gen chromecast

This has just started since I moved into my new place. It never did it before. I reset the Chromecast and made sure my connection is good, and the connection is great, at least on my phone and Xbox One. Anyone know what could be causing this? Its happening more with 1080p content but sometimes with 720p as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone else having major heist matchmaking issues lately?

Last month I would play heists every day either by hosting or joining as a quick job. I would of course have random occasional problems, but most of the problems I had were related to people sucking/dying.

Now it seems I can barely get a single matchmaking heist mission going. Lots of times when I finally get one started, a person drops out en route to the first objective. Also plenty of weird stuff is happening like people dying for no discernable reason, essential mission vehicles glitching out, people respawning in different outfits, etc.

One time I even had a prison break: station mission where for some reason it would only let us start if all four of us joined the station team. When we spawned into the game we were each assigned weird/different roles. I was given the Wet Work lawyer team role even though we were playing Station....

Cheapest PC that can perform as well as a console?

I don't want insane performance, I'm not an elitist and I really don't care whether or not I can play in 4k at 461628820fps. I just want something that I can incorporate into my racing rig and play Xbox games that are now compatible with PC, such as Forza. So long as it can handle anywhere between 720p and 1080p at 60fps then I'll be happy. I would just buy an Xbox One, but that would require me to buy a new Thrustmaster steering wheel as my current one is only compatible with PS3, PS4 & PC.. So, fuck that. Budget would be somewhere around the cost of PS4 or Xbox One (I live in the UK) Can anyone suggest a decent setup? I honestly have no idea whether or not the parts I see on parts picker sites are actually capable of running the settings I need.

PAL Xbox with component cable for 480p - possible?

Hello,

I've read, that you need a NTSC Xbox to use component cables for 720p and 1080i. But I'm fine with 480p, because thats what most games support. Do I still need a NTSC Xbox or a modded PAL Xbox to use 480p with component cables? Would be a shame, because I just wanted to buy a cheap used xbox to play some gems so I don't want to pay that much money actually.

Best regards,

Sonic Heroes has TERRIBLE graphics.

I bought an original Xbox today for the sole purpose of playing Sonic Heroes in HD 720p. I tried it out, AND... the game still looks completely pixelated and terrible. To be honest, this game looks like it has Nintendo 64 graphics and whatnot, because of all of the jagged edges with the polygons and the colors. Outside of the rendered cutscenes, the game has some very poor graphics. The Sonic Adventure games looked WAY better, and they came out a few years earlier. I don't know what happened, but like I said, this game looks like it belongs on the Nintendo 64. Oh, and why is the game not entirely in a 4:3 aspect ratio? There's two black pillars on each side of the screen, no matter what setting your TV is on. Long story short, Sonic Heroes has terrible graphics.

Finally shall ascend to the master race! (Story)

This will be a long story, but bear with me.

Since I was 5, I have played on consoles. ps2 to ps3 then Xbox 360. My dad was as programmer, not a gamer, so he bought his computers from best buy like a filthy peasant. I received his old PC with a Intel Pentium, 4 gigs ram, no GPU, and all around shit specs. I had no clue this PC was bad for gaming until I downloaded my first PC exclusive, minecraft. I struggled to push 15 fps with all settings low. I still played tho, I learned to accept it. I became my teams dedicated builder as I had no combat skill because I was a few frames behind at all times.

I mainly played on Xbox 360, but I was happy because all my friends were on it. But something on the horizon would change my life, next gen consoles. My friends split. Some went with the (far superior imo) ps4 because of it's offerings while others stayed at home on the Xbox. I however, wasn't so lucky. My parents hated games. They refused to buy me a new console. I have been playing the 360 for the past 3 years.

I got a PC upgrade 2 years ago, however it was a double hand-me down $300 laptop from 2010. No GPU but at least it had an i3. I still couldn't push 20 fps in minecraft. I had abandoned minecraft at that point, I didn't want anything to do with pc gaming. I put all my effort into school because I could get a ps4 if I got straight A grades, for 2 years straight I failed that. My Xbox was dying, I put in black ops 3 for 360 and I knew I was screwed, but there was no alternative.

Around April my friends convinced me to get CSGO, I told them about my situation but they told me it ran on anything. I bought it and they were right to some extent. 800x600 everything low, I got 25 fps. I was ecstatic. I still lost almost every engagement, but I thought it was just me being bad. My dad told me he was upgrading his PC, so I can have his old one with similar specs to my laptop, however it had a PCIE slot open. I was happy because I could finally get into new games with my new pc friends and ditch my 360. I was patiently waiting for my dad to get his new PC.

Just a week ago, ibuypower hosted a free play event on their systems. I went with friends to get the full esport experience. I played CSGO like a pro compared to before. I finally got above 1kdr and I realised how I was bottlenecking myself.

I will be getting my 950 next paycheck. I have my dad's PC ready for it. It's not the best PC in the world, but I just need something to run new games at 720p above 30 fps, and this build will probably surpass 60 fps at 720p on games like black ops 3 and gta 5.

I am home

Just got an original XBOX and want to keep it?

Then there are some thing you can do, but first the ugly truth: THE CLOCK CAPASITORS DIES ON EVERY XBOX v1.0-1.5 AND KILLS YOUR XBOX IF YOU DONT REMOVE IT!, JUST A YSK! LINK: http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php/XboxVersionTable Eurasia is superb on homebrew and information. Even sells xbox chips for 10usd if your out of luck and have a xbox 1.6.

It's simple to fix as always but fatal if ignored. It can be removed, and most times you won't even notice it's gone after removing it. Mostlikly it had already startet to fail, but hopefully you will get it in time. It's not dangerous if you use your head, I believe its very good for you and your xbox. But keep a vacuum cleaner at hand at all time the box is open ^ XBOX needs air more than we do! http://myoriginalxbox.weebly.com/capacitor-removal.html

New fan and thermal paste makes them last for ever I guess! Only way to be sure about version is to open the box, had a few that did not match dates. For PAL console its not a choice it must be hardmodded! Only with chip or TSOP will it give you games in 480p and 720p or 1080i in homebrew like emulators and XBMC. TSOP is also so much fun. And as always it's simple: Softmod------>solder a few point or use a conductive pen to make connection on a couple of points, can even be done with sewing neddle and a blow trouch but its not highly recomended------>flash the onboard bios chip called TSOP------>Free system! best hacking experience you get, and it does not cost a dime, just braincells ^

Slotgamer on YouTube has a great video on TSOP and it covers a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIw8k5areQg

The next great thing I do and its a must! I add a coaxial RCA socket and solder just a few wires to enable surround and digital audio without the 50$ HDTV pack from M$ ^ it must have been cheaper new! It has Toslink optical output but i preffer cheap cables that can survive among apes so I only had a RCA socket that you can find anywhere. So then I can use cheap cables from China for 720p video signal and have surround and good sound for music and movies.

This diagram maps all outputs form the motherboard of the xbox and where to add outputs:

Is there any way to configure my Xbox One to support 1600x900?

The thing is that I plugged my Xbox to my pc monitor via dvi to hdmi. The thing though is that my monitor's maximum resolution is 1600x900 and Xbox settings only let me choose 720p. 900p is obviously better, but is there any way to make my Xbox support that resolution? or am I stuck playing at 720p? :(

Destiny | 60 Frames Per Second

Destiny obviously runs on all media devices at 30 frames per second There is a "complex" way to make 30fps games into 60fps games in post processing, I am thinking about making a tutorial about how to do this, and I will if there is enough demand for it.

Also I am guessing (Hoping) that the new playstation/Xbox will be running destiny in 60fps, I think it looks really cool! Obviously make sure to check the 720/1080 60fps in the quality section on the video.

Dragon Age Origins - Ultimate Edition (Intel i3 5020u + HD5500 graphics).

I'm thinking about picking up Dragon Age: Origins on gog.com. The ultimate edition with effectively all DLC + Awakening is on sale for 7.99.

https://www.gog.com/game/dragon_age_origins

Would I be able to run this at 1366x768 with a playable framerate?

As a point of reference, I picked up Witcher 1 & 2 for ~5$ total during their big summer sale. Witcher 1 I ran on high at 1366x768 (native res on my laptop) with no problems. Then witcher 2, I had to screw around with tweaking user config stuff for hours to get it up to ~30fps at much lower res. Forget if I settled on 720x480 or 800x600, but either way, its pretty ugly.

I know its not much of a gaming rig. Didn't mean for it to be... I have a PS4 for any modern AAA titles I want to play. Just looking to get a feel for what I can/cannot run out of the PS3/xbox360 sort of time frame.

EDIT: Apparently DA2 had a demo. Downloading that now to see how it runs. If it's acceptable, I'm sure DAO will be fine. If not, I'm not sure where that leaves me.

Xbox 360: Audio out of sync

Have you checked the Plex knowledge base and searched on the sub and Google: I checked everything and the only relevant thread on the PleX forums was a year old thread of people reporting the same problem but no solutions.

Server version: 2.7.0

OS: Windows

Clients, w/ versions, if applicable: Xbox 360 PleX app, latest version.

What you did?

Tried to play some of my dvd rips of Trailer Park Boys but audio was out of sync by about 10-15 seconds.

What happened?

Audio was immediately out of sync when starting the video, tried to rewind and make everything sync back up, but nothing worked.

What you expected?

Audio to be in sync, like it is with the majority of my files.

What are your (relevant) settings?

Local quality: original

Remote/online quality: 4mbps 720p

Direct Play enabled

Direct Stream enabled

Other Notes:

I thought originally that this was a transcoding problem, but then I realized that it should be loading the original copy since it's all over LAN. I could be totally wrong and it's converting some old SD video and upscaling it to 720p, but I don't see why it would take the audio out of sync, especially since it doesn't do that on any other device. I tried PleX on my laptop and Android phone and on both the episode was perfectly synced up, it seems to only be a problem on the 360.

Upgraded stream equipment. Disaster follows. Magewell 3.0 experience/advice appreciated

Greetings, folks. I recently upgraded just about every piece of my stream setup. Not trying to go pro, I just wanted something easier to use that was high quality. One of my many purchases was to upgrade from the Elgato HD60 to the Magewell 3.0 dongle. This is my first issue, and the only one I will discuss in this post.

The Magewell claim to fame is ease of use and next to zero latency. That is true in my case, sort of. The issue I am having is video quality. I am a console streamer only, so I need an HDMI splitter to split my Xbox One output to 2 for a monitor out and a Magewell out.

During my initial test everything worked great. I just tried the XB1 and the monitor to make sure the splitter and new cables all worked ok, and it was perfect. Powered everything down and installed the HDMI cable to the Magewell, Magewell to usb 3.0, and fired up my laptop. Instantly the video quality dropped on both the computer and the game monitor. It is fuzzy and grainy. Not HD anymore. Looks more like 480i to me. When I unplug the usb for the Magewell the console monitor goes black screen for a few seconds then comes right back at crisp 1080p. Plug the usb back in and right back to crap video.

I can only assume it is either a setting, the splitter, or the Magewell. Based upon what I have read the Magewell is self adjusting to any incoming signal, so for the sake of argument I will assume that is not the problem. As for settings, I can't find any way to make any adjustments to the Magewell. There is a good possibility that I am just a tard and can't find how to access it, but at this point I am coming up empty. My best guess so far is that the HDMI splitter is freaking out when the Magewell gets powered because it thinks the two outputs are going to different resolution monitors, so it degrades the picture quality for some reason to balance things? I know, it sounds stupid to me as well, but I am literally at a loss for how to proceed.

The only other thing I can figure is that my laptop may somehow be the problem. I would assume (I am doing a lot of assuming...) that going through the Magewell and into a usb 3.0 would not cause any quality input issues, but I am not a computer specialist, so I am just guessing.

I have already tried different HDMI cables just to test. No change.

Any advice on the Magewell, or HDMI splitter knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Magewell I am using---->https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I16VQOY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Splitter I am using--->https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004F9LVXC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

TL;DR Video quality drops on my game monitor after I power my Magewell with usb 3.0. Bad/cheap splitter? Crappy laptop? Defective Magewell?

******SOLUTION EDIT: The Xbox output setting must match the monitor settings you are using! My Xbox was only at 720p at the time, so it did not jive with my laptop 1080p settings. My game monitor auto adjusted to the 720p, that's why it worked OK alone, but the laptop resolution was fixed, so the mismatch in settings created the poor video feed I saw. Switched the Xbox to 1080p to match the laptop and it was an instant fix!

A question about backwards compatibility and up-scaling?

For games that run 720p on the 360, are these upscaled to 1080p on the Xbox One?

Also what sort of upscaling is it and how effective is it?

As I'm thinking of getting one and BC sounds great.

I've got Red Dead on PS3 but I'd love to get it on Xbox if it means a higher quality image?

META: r/xboxone and it's ever-increasing toxicity.

So, before we begin, and before 'that guy' decides to read through everything I've ever posted in order to discredit me, yes, I primarily post over at r/PS4. I don't really prefer one to the other, with the PS4 miles ahead for me in terms of UI and the Xbox edging it in terms of exclusives (or exclusive. I just miss Halo really) and it's twitch integration on the storefront.

Getting to the point, what I really wanted to highlight is how toxic this sub is becoming of late. As a community it seems like we're in denial concerning the attitudes of each console's particular fanbase - namely the fact that in almost every thread made that warrants comparison to the Playstation, ten people feel the need to repeat the sentiment that the Playstation community is toxic and the Scorpio is some kind of punishment. I mean, to illustrate, here's a few recent posts:

"Watch how Playstation fans will switch to "gfx don't matter" and "4k is unnecessary" or "30fps is fine""

"The ps4 fans turned this whole generation into resolution fps flame war. The 720p/30fps was referring to quantum break. But that game was definitely not a simple 720p.... It was using 4 720p pixels to construct their graphics. Anyway..."

"Can you please go back to r/ps4?.. you don't belong here."

"Sorry, you're right, fanboys. It's just that there seems to be a lot of them, acting like utter shit heads in all the comment section's for Xbox/Nintendo news. Really makes the PlayStation community look toxic."

Bear in mind, all of these posts can be found in a non-inflammatory thread, with little reason for such blatant toxicity. People bleat on about r/PS4 being this and that, but in reality they're typically relatively critical of the PS4 when warranted, and were largely disappointed with the Neo when compared to the Scorpio.

What I'm getting at is that this sub seems to be stuck in a console wars mentality, and the mental gymnastic some people are using to justify their shitposting and feel superior is amazing. They're fucking games consoles, guys. Can we not drop the bullshit and just talk about games? I typically use r/PS4 for a reason - the toxicity here is unbearable.

TL;DR: Can we all just get the fuck over console wars and calm our superiority complexes down a notch?

Original Xbox Softmod Woes

I purchased a softmodded Xbox assuming that was all I needed for 720p/1080i playback. No so in PAL regions!

I'm running unleashx 0.38 and have a copy of hexen boot DVD. Trying to unlock HD resolutions. Can't backup my eeprom it says backups/eeprom/evox.xbe not found; can't just install the mod as it says unleashx backup dash missing.

Please help me safely resolve this. Does anyone know of any shops that could do this for me near NG44QG in Nottingham, United Kingdom?

I responded to the author of that awful Motherboard article via email.

Hi there, Emanuel!

I just read your article on Vice about building a PC. It is truly a shame that such a prominent website allows such blatant misinformation to be published. I figured I would email you and try to set the record straight.

First, let's start with your 3 step guide to building a PC:

Step 1: Have an unreasonable amount of disposable income.

Step 2: Have an unreasonable amount of time to research, shop around, and assemble parts for your computer.

Step 3: Get used to the idea that this is something you're going to have to keep investing time and money in as long as you want to stay at the cutting edge or recommended specifications range for new PC games.

Step 1: You can build a perfectly viable gaming PC for a similar price as a console. "The Crusher" build found on the PC Master Race subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/builds#wiki_the_crusher) is testament to this. For just a little over $400, you get 60fps gaming at 1080p. As a comparison, the Xbox One and PS4 games mostly run at 720-900p at 30fps. This is both a reduction in graphical quality AND framerate, for the same cost! It also seems ironic that you would complain about the expenses involved in building a PC, then recommend Apple products which are by and large some of the most overpriced electronics on the entire market. You chose the most expensive products in the hobby PC market, then complained about it. This isn't PC gaming's fault, it's yours.

Step 2: Most of the research is already done for you. PCPartPicker, PC Master Race, and Logical Increments have plenty of build guides to refer to. I can make a mild concession here simply because there are indeed a multitude of options to choose from when building a PC; I definitely see this as more of a blessing than a curse, but I'm sure opinions vary. Regardless, no matter what product you're buying, any intelligent consumer will be well-pressed to do some research on what they're purchasing, and there are plenty resources available that distill the information into something far more digestible. It sounds like to me that you simply couldn't be assed... again, your problem, not PC Gaming's. But I guess if you want something plug-and-play the console still wins... I dunno, just a tiny bit of effort in order to get something objectively and substantially better for the same price sounds good to me.

Step 3: The nail in the coffin - the aforementioned Crusher build will last as long as the consoles at better-than-console performance (again, for the same price). Though, using the Crusher as an example, I could upgrade that GTX950 to a 970 or beyond for less than the price of upgrading to the next generation of consoles. Have fun buying your Neo/Scorpio for $499 (more than the cost of a GTX1070 which will last years at 1080p/120fps - try that, consoles!) and still be unable to keep up. This point might have had a bit more weight before Microsoft and Sony basically admitted that they can't keep up with PC hardware. Though, again, I can't have much sympathy for you, because you are choosing to remain at the CUTTING EDGE, when that is wholly unnecessary for quality gaming over a long period.

tl;dr: You chose to get the highest-end hardware you can, without doing any research, then complained about the expense while insisting you remain on the cutting edge. Nice move. (God, and then you go on to talk about bang-for-buck? Seriously?)

You spent $2000 on parts you frankly did not need and then complained about the price. i7 is overkill for gaming. i5 would have saved you over $100. You got one of the highest-end motherboards, again, overkill. Water cooled, even. Overkill. Are you even planning on overclocking? You bought an expensive case that you don't even like. Why not buy one that was actually aesthetically pleasing to you? (Oh yeah, because you're too lazy to use Google.)

Then you went to build it. Oh boy, a 160-page manual! Again, have you ever heard of Google? Are you aware of the over 54 million results that show up when you search for "how to build a pc?" There's even Youtube videos that go over every facet of building your PC from start to finish, if you aren't the reading type. BTW, have you ever tried to upgrade anything other than RAM on a Mac? You can't. Good luck (and have fun complaining about the cost of your bad decision making some more).

Now, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt a bit. I understand that the PC market can be intimidating to newcomers. I agree that pre-built gaming PCs are overpriced (that's why we build them ourselves, but with your mentality on spending I'm sure you would have been fine buying an Alienware or something). But it doesn't take much more than, maybe realistically an hour of reading to get a baseline understanding of everything going on under the hood. But I guess that's an hour better spent playing GTAV at 30fps on a console. I guess I understand? Some people just want things handed to them. I guess I can't blame them, and PC gaming just isn't for those people.

Really though, opening your article with such misinformation and then advocating inferior options is pretty irresponsible journalism. I hope next time you actually... do some research.... but by your own admission, that's not gonna happen. (So did I waste my time? Maybe. But at least I enjoyed writing this.)

Enjoy the rest of your day :)

How to get your channel on cable operators and other platforms

Hello,

I work for the Los Angeles based company Frequency Networks. We specialize in digital video distribution, and this fall will be integrating our technology and content licensing agreements into set-top boxes and mobile devices of cable operators. This new service is an augmented television experience that will compliment tradition TV and VOD, a “made-for-web” experience streamed directly to your living room.

Through the first part of 2017 we expect our network to reach 50 million households and 120 million mobile devices with continued growth as we partner with new operators and platforms. All content is ad supported and out the gate will have a CPM of $15-$25. Our agreement is non-exclusive.

We have already partnered with several of the top cable and mobile operators in the US, Europe, and Asia. Our content providers range from MCNs, independent creators, digital brands, television networks, news agencies, and record labels. Currently we have about 120 content deals and are expecting to double that by launch.

Our optional Content Management System allow you to deliver your content, with one upload, to other platforms like Go90, Watchable, Xbox, Playstation Network, Dailymotion, etc. (anywhere we can build an API).

Anyone with a Flip and Android app support able to test some apps?

I've had an Acer C720 for a while and I love it but with no support for Android apps I'm considering updating it. However, I would like to know if a few apps will work or not before I take the plunge.

So with that in mind, is there anyone who can report on how well (if at all) the following apps work? Minecraft (with an Xbox 360 controller) BT Sport (UK) Sky Go (UK) Skype The Sims (either Sims 3 or Freeplay - for my daughter, honest!)

I've specifically mentioned Minecraft above, but to be honest I would also like to know generally how well Chromebooks with Android apps work with controllers. Is it a good rule of thumb that if it already works with a controller on an Android device it will with a Chromebook? Or is it sadly not as simple as that?

Thanks!

Looking for advice for HTPC: Plex server, streaming

My current setup: On my PC at home, I run my Plex server that I share between multiple locations. I am usually only sending one stream but it is occasionally two simultaneous. All the content is hosted on a NAS attached to my router. In my living room, my Xbox 360 is my current HTPC choice, doing my Netflix/Plex/Hulu, etc. streaming.

Issues: * First and foremost, my aged 360 is finally going to the great digital pasture in the sky. I think a fan died internally and it's overheating, causing a three-light red ring frequently. I need to replace this asap. * Second, my PC is a moderate gaming rig. I would really like to move the Plex server off it to a low (or lower) power option so I can only turn my PC on only when I need it, instead of leaving it running 24/7 in case another location wants to stream something.

Requirements: * Has to be hardwire-able; I'm not even sure if that needs to be said as it seems pretty obvious to me, but here we are. * Would like fan-less since it will sit in my living room but if the fan is quiet, I'll certainly consider all comers. * I don't have experience with Ubuntu and, frankly, would rather not take the time. I use and am comfortable with Windows. *I would like to run the Plex server from the new option while still using it for streaming, read: all-in-one option.

I've looked at i5 Nuc's from Intel as well as something like this but am a little overwhelmed in terms of options, costs, and what would be computationally necessary. I don't have a 4K TV but given that my current 720 is at least 8 years old, one might be down the horizon a ways. It would help if the option is mildly future-proof.

Advice please!

My budget for a used/new TV is ~$150. Should I go for 720 or 1080p?

I don't need anything fancy or state of the art. I thought that 720p was a dealbreaker, but with the lack of TVs that don't have terrible, terrible reviews with 1080p resolution in my price range, I've been considering biting the bullet and going with a 720p set. All I need it for is watching the occasional Bluray, playing my Xbox 360, and streaming Netflix.

Is 720p outdated enough that it would be stupid to not get a 1080p TV? Or am I overthinking this?

(also sidenote: I was aiming for a 32" because it'll be a good 12' from the couch)

Today I lost all hope for console peasants...

Today an xbox one user said and I quote "Xbox one is able to run 1080p 60fps and PC can only run 720p"

it was at this moment that I needed to prove this imbecile a lesson.Let's just say he may need bandages on his arse for the amount of butthurt he is.

Reduced quality over time

So I bought the HD60 about 7 months ago to capture gameplay on my Xbox One. After finding the sweet spot to record optimally everything was fine. Now about once a month, or sometimes every other month, I have to lower my record quality settings to prevent the capture from becoming choppy and unusable. Whenever this happens I keep the settings at that new optimal state, but once a month I have to lower it again. When I am done capturing I export the files as MP4 and dump them into an external drive, then clear the non rendered files from my Elgato Software. I have always turned off all background tasks, turned off internet connectivity, turned off Anti-Virus and closed all unnecessary windows before opening the program and recording. I initially started at 720 @ 30 fps, Decoder set to Software, Encoder set to software, Video Codec quality set to highest Quality, with card quality set to High. 7 months later I have switched my Encoder to hardware, Decoder still at Software, Video Codec set to Best Performance, card quality set to below Moderate. Any help or suggestions would be welcome!

[BF1] 200 hrs feedback

Playing for weeks with tubers. BF vet over 5000 hrs on bf2/bf3/bf4.

Holy fuck this is stale. We all thought Star Wars and Mirror's Edge 2 were just blips, but somehow DICE have managed to make BF boring.

Grinding for unlocks its not cool anymore. Skill seem devoid now. Performance on xbone is really bad. Looks and plays 720 sub 15 fps. Art style is strange it looks like a Killzone game. Levelotuion events are just SFX. Choice of weapons is very limited. Lots of crashes to Xbox hud. Tested on two different consoles and it has memory leaks all over.

After 200 hours allready I can safely say this is the most dumbed down and COD like BF game I've ever played. Its worst than Hardline in the current build.

Heartbreaking to see DICE fall so far in such a short time. 2016 has not been good for them.

I'm contemplating buying an Xbox one! Perfect time to do it?

Hi guys,

I'm contemplating buying an Xbox one. Why? I want to try how it is to play a melee game on a big screen. I have a home cinema with about 90 inch screen. Resolution of my projetor i think is 720p so about xbox native resolution yes?

A game I want to try is far cry primal.

Several ppl including my son (that owns a PS4 at his mothers house) wants me to get an PS4 instead.

BUT...Xbox will cost 50% the cost of an PS4, and Since I alsready have a gaming PC I like the connection between xbox and PC (future games can be played on both?)

I will most likely not play any shooters on the Xbox as I have a gaming PC for that, but its probably VERY fun to use the controller for those melee games? (far cry primal)

Would PS4 be the best buy in the long run or would you guys just go for the Xbox one? OR should I wait unthil next gen comes out?

AND....I am planning to try my sons PS4 in my house during the weekend....and i guess its gonna be just the same "gaming feeling" from the PS4 versus Xbox one? controller, ressolution and big screen wise yes?

Alpha on Xbox One too? If so: can anybody tell what resolution it is running on?

So past BF games on Xbox One have been running on a mere 720p. I have hopes that it has a better resolution for BF1, but i haven't seen anybody talk about that. Or even if there is an alpha on Xbox One. I heard there was one for PS4 (got that confirmed) but didn't hear about X1.

So for those that play the alpha, what can you tell us about how it looks, what resolution you play on, the FPS and if its steady, and so on.

And for those playing on PS4: can you also elaborate a bit on the graphics and resolution? Previous games ran on 900p, is it 1080p now?

Hackintosh ready?

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Primarily, to run my DAW, Ableton Live, as fluidly as possible since my current rmbp 13 lags on even 3rd party plugins such as Massive. However I do also want to do some gaming, I'd like 1440p but 1080p would suffice for me coming from a 720p Xbox One. Worthy of note is that this would also be a dual boot computer - so two SSDS.1 to run a Hackintosh and the other windows

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

1080p, 60fps, ultra 144hz

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

1,350 pounds around

In what country are you purchasing your parts?
