Got a new laptop. Pls help me remove bloatware

I got a lenovo 720s 13ikb yesterday and am trying to get windows to not keep reinstalling candy crush. I uninstalled McAffe but i still see some folders named McAffe and when i go to delete them they say "file not found in location". Also i want to remove many apps like maps and xbox stuff that it won't let me uninstall normally for some reason.

Also what are the best battery extending settings that you guys would suggest because i will not be needing much performance from the machine at college as i would need battery life

Lost trying to find a 4K TV

Hi all,

I’ve been browsing this sub all day as well as the rating site for TVs. It’s a little bit confusing when you are a noob so I am asking for a little advice.

I am looking to get 4K tv and Best Buy is having a sale right now. I look at their stuff but I don’t know what’s a good deal and what isn’t.

Here are my criterias: - Around 800$ or less - I mostly game (xbox one and ps4, they don’t have 4k but I wanna be ready for the next gen), and movies. - 55” and up

From my understanding (and correct me if I am wrong), these seem like good buys: - the Vizio 60” Class D series for 600$ (refurbished) - Vizio 65” class 4K for 720$ - TLC 65” class 4 series for 660$

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I'm ready for another week of Sherpa Raids, and this time I'm presenting an opportunity to do a Crown of Sorrow, a Last Wish, or a Scourge of the Past. I will have some requirements going in, but nothing too stringent.

Scourge of the Past - Please ensure that you are at or above 640 (as most are, I'm sure). As with the others, we will need everyone to contribute for success. I will need 4 guardians and 2 alternates. Time commitment will need to be at or around 2-3 hours. - Start time will be at 1:30 PM CST on Sunday, June 27.

Last Wish - Please ensure that you are at or past 600 (as practically everyone is). As with Crown, this is not a carry. Many, many parts will be mechanic heavy and will not be a carry. I will be teaching the proper way to defeat Riven as well. Time commitment will be 4 to 5 hours. - I will be needing 4 guardians and 2 alternates. - Start time will be at 12 PM CST on Saturday, June 29.

Crown of Sorrows - Please ensure that you are at or around 720 to 725 PL. This will not be a carry as everyone has to pull his or her weight, and along with this, I also will ask everyone to dedicate at least 3 to 4 hours as the final encounters are a bit difficult for new people. - I will need 4 guardians and 2 alternates. - Start time will be between 6:45 and 7 PM CST on Thursday, June 30.

Despite it's large size, it is extremely weak to all weapons and doesn't take durability from melee weapons. however it is very mobile in liquids and is able to regrow what it has lost if it can reach a nearby Bubble bottle. it doesn't deal much damage, in fact, it has one of the lowest DPS of any boss in the game. but due to its nature as a joke boss, it is generally just a great annoyance to most players as it can never really be defeated using general tactics used in the game. those who do beat it feel a sense of disappointment of the fight, anger towards the devs, and lust for the naked woman that was inside the boss if the player has bought the super ultra deluxe hyper-expansion pack mudkipz edition 9001 for the Xbox 720, PS6, and Nintendo Wii 2, for 399.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PSA for the Switch version :(

Just so everyone knows, I got the Xbox physical version last week as most of the Backers did and played through the entire game. Absolutely love it! Luckily wasn’t affected by the 1.02 glitch.

Got a copy of the switch version early and have been playing it for a couple of hours. I have only played on Portable mode, so my entire opinion is based on that.

As of right now, its pretty rough. I’d say it runs at about 15 FPS most of the time and rarely gets up to 30. Luckily the text is sharp, but most of the textures are pretty blurry. The in-game portraits of the backers are so blurry you can barely tell they are people. The load times between rooms are either just a couple of seconds, or almost around 8-10 seconds depends on which room which is pretty long. As of right now the Switch version is running 1.01 (so there was an update when I put the game in).
To claim the switch version (handheld) is 720 would be a stretch. The in game sprites and backgrounds just aren’t that sharp. I really really hope there’s a optimization update when the game officially launches on the 25th. I plan to only play the switch version from here on out just because I love the portability. I really hope this doesn’t discourage all of the Switch buyers, because this game is amazing and deserves all the love.

Anyways, I’ll try to answer any questions you all ask!

I'm stuck as to what to do: Looking for some advice/suggestions (regular GR 100+ players only please)

Background: Only started playing seriously last season. I only play Hardcore, no desire to switch. I play on an XBox and also no desire to switch to PC (it's my lounge and chill game, I play 95% of my games on PC).

Last season I hit GR98 with my Harvester WD, paragon 800. Didn't die, but got bored.

This season I've died twice. Necro LoN Thorns, hit GR 84.

Switched to Necro LoN Lance, was doing decent (back up to GR55), but accidentally hit highest played and wiped in 20 seconds).

Now I'm back to Necro LoN Thorns, paragon 720. It is slow. Grinding ancients, particularly ones I need after dying twice (like nemesis, golemskin illusory, kalan), is making me suicidal irl. And now I have learned that apparently the strategy you need for higher GRs requires that you basically manipulate your skeletons on specific elite mobs, and that it's very hard to do on console (hence why highest GR on Necro on XBox HC is 111 using scythe and tasker and skeletal mages) has made me wonder if I should play something else.

Advice? Inventory room has been a pain in the ass so I've cleared out basically everything but ancients, I have 3-4 ancients of each set, but no full set, all my primals suck and are useless, and I guess I'm now to the point that I'd rather find something fun to play to around GR 95 and do speedruns for the remainder of the season.

Rifter will NOT gain omnipotence until he has collected the most important item from EVERY universe.

Just to clarify, Rifter only opens one rift at a time, when he's travelling to and from dimensions. He also makes rifts sometimes if he's attacking, or summoning an object he wants, or something like that. When he's done using a rift, he closes it.

However, Rifter will have to open many rifts along his journey. He opens so much rifts, that the space time continuum becomes unstable, resulting in random rifts opening and closing throughout the multiverse. Rifter isn't aware on how to make space time less unstable, so as his journey goes on, more and more random rifts will appear.

​

The random rifts will occur so often, that is it guranteed you will get sucked into one and experience at least 90% of the universes.

​

Rifter will start in his own universe. The universe he goes to first will be Real Life. After that, he'll do the rest in a random order.

Events:

• Rifter finds a magical rock (from his universe) that grants him the power to detect objects he needs
• Rifter steals the Earth's entire water supply, because water is the object from Real Life that he needs
• The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (Portal) can now work on any flat surface that isn't made out of Lego bricks.
• The Lego Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (Lego Portal) can now work on any flat surface that is made out of Lego bricks.
• Lord Vortech (Lego Dimensions) is freed from his prison via a random rift from Rifter.
• The greens (Lifeline) begin spreading around the multiverse

The next Xbox should be called Xbox 540

I think the next Xbox should be called 540. I think it gets it way from the perception of the Xbox One TV focus and gets it back to its 360 gaming roots, which a lot of gamers have great memories of. Not to mention the next PlayStation will inevitably be called PS5 and 540 sounds as good or better from a competitive standpoint. Then from there you could go Xbox 720, 900 and so on. Just my 2 cents.

hi all, this morning my xbox randomly stopped displaying to my tv. I managed to get it to work but only in low-res mode (640x480). whenever I put it up to the regular 720 the image is extremely glitchy and is temperamental since half the time the tv won't even detect the xbox in this setting. ideas?

Weird problem with my xbox one s

So my xbox one s is about a year old, been playing with a 2 month old hdmi cable i bought and since day one playing on a samsung tv set.... also all my games are stored on a external hd (toshiba) everything working as it should and visualy as good as it gets with xbox one s... so few days ago i was watching youtube on xbox and i turn my screen off to go get a drink from local shop( old habbit, always do this to prevent screen burning or whatever )so turn screen of but left console running... less then 30min i come back and turn tv on, screen is black and mid screen message reads " mode not supported" at the same time i have a headphone plugged in my controller so i still hear youtube going.... anyway turn everything off. Turn tv and xbox back on and the picture is back but its all static and fuzzy full of colour artifacts and red stripes... as i move over the dashboard with the controller with each movement the pattern of red stripes etc changes... picture fades in and out to black screen and bam its gone and "mode not supported pops back up... ok turn everything off again, back on but screen stays black and try different hdmi cable... i have 4 hdmi cables at my house so try them... nothing works but one... the screen is again still fuzzy and red stripes everywhere but different then before and it doesnt fade to black anymore... btw i try this with 2 tv sets and in both casses it was the same so that rules out a problem with the tv anyway so i go to settings, video etc. The console was set to 1080p as it was always... notice even with the visual problem i can still choose 1080 or 720p... i read other people had something similar but had no options and the console sets it self on low res 480p anyway i can stil choose... the problem is with 1080 and 720... i mess around with the settings and choose hdmi setting insteadt of the top setting auto detect... now my console is on low res 480p and the fuzzyness and red stripes are gone... i can play games again but only on low res... games still play the same. same performence but just 480p... better then nothing coul be worse i guess... people say gpu failing or broken hdmi port.... i dont know... anybody an idea about this.... is this fixable or should i buy a new one... thanx in advance

E3 highlights: The next Xbox, Microsoft game streaming

June 10, 2019 - E3 is already huge, and it's just getting started

Across the E3 press conferences we go, with a host of new games and developments already announced. There's too much going on, really, but here's the big stuff you can't miss.

Microsoft’s “Project Scarlett”: its next-gen Xbox console

Microsoft revealed some scant details about Project Scarlett, it’s next-generation Xbox console. A 3m 58s trailer on YouTube showed off some glimpses of the hardware, promising “this generation is going to bigger leap than any generation we’ve done before” - 4 times the performance of the current-gen Xbox.

What we know:

• It’s powered by a “custom-designed processor,” from AMD, using latest Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture.
• More specs: High-bandwidth GDDR6 RAM, and a solid state drive. Microsoft says the SSD is capable of a 40x boost in performance, meaning much faster load speeds.
• 8K capability, ray tracing, variable refresh rate up to 120fps, and ultra-low latency input.
• Sound familiar? Microsoft is offering much of what we heard out of Sony and the upcoming PlayStation 5, which will also feature SSD storage, 8K support, and 3D audio.
• And it’s also what game streaming services are promising in the next few cycles.
• Arriving “Holiday 2020”.
• Oh, and there’s a new Halo, because of course there is.
• Halo Infinite, will launch with the device as its major launch title, a whole new chapter for Master Chief, with this nearly six minute trailerthat disappointingly doesn’t contain a single second of gameplay.
• By the way, Microsoft hid a tonne of keys in that trailer, all redeemed within minutes for three-months of the new Xbox Game Ultimate pass.
• Microsoft also unveiled the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, with longer battery life, USB-C, Bluetooth, and a raft of other improvements. It’s also compatible with Xbox Scarlett, and launches November 4, for $179.99 USD.

Xbox Game Pass is now available on PC

• Xbox Game Pass has launched on Windows 10 as of right now, the service launching at reasonable $4.99 per month.
• That’s an “introductory” price, with regular pricing at $9.99.
• Xbox Game Pass for PC offers 100 games from over 75 developers and publishers, including Football Manager 2019, Imperator: Rome, and Metro Exodus.

Now this is pretty good value, buuuut….

• I don’t have a clear view ahead here but I’ve never liked that on Xbox you can only game online with a paid subscription. (The PlayStation originally had free multiplayer, before Sony borrowed Microsoft’s model, while the Nintendo Switch has a paid model too.)
• Pay $60+ for a game, pay $49 a year (or $9.99 per month) for a Live Gold sub. to play online.
• It’s been like that for years, too.
• If that approach seeps into the world of PC gaming, even slightly, it’s not “for the gamers” however Microsoft spins its world of Xbox.
• To be clear, that’s not happening yet. But signposts are being erected.
• One more thing - Microsoft launched Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, with PC and Xbox games, for $14.99 per month. Included in that is an Xbox Live Gold subscription, making it a nice all-in-one if that’s your ecosystem.

Microsoft’s Project xCloud

Microsoft isn’t letting Google Stadia muscle in on its hard-won gaming turf, with some more detail about Project xCloud - its own streaming service taking Xbox games and more to PC.

• Essentially, this looks like it’ll be streaming from your Xbox One library - including games from Xbox Game Pass - to any device.
• We didn’t get a lot more detail than that, though. Microsoft didn’t provide any dates or pricing for its service, although a public preview starts in October.
• On the E3 show floor, the service is being shown, with gamers able to try Halo 5: Guardians and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice streaming on smartphones and tablets.

What else at E3? Games!

• Elden Ring is the new fantasy game from George R.R. Martin and FromSoftware - the folks behind Dark Souls (The Verge).
• There’s a new Microsoft Flight Simulator (trailer) and some Gears 5 action (trailer).
• Also, Keanu Reeves is in "Cyberpunk 2077" coming next year and all sorts of mania is happening (reveal trailer + Keanu).
• Electronic Arts showed off 14 minutes of gameplay for its upcoming action-adventure game, "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" (trailer). Given the careful focus on the lightsaber and use of the Force via new mechanics, people are hype.
• Also from EA, “Apex Legends” season 2 kicks off July 2, a new legend "Wattson" was introduced (trailer).
• From Bethesda: “Ghostwire: Tokyo” has a lot of people talking (Kotaku), and it might be because someone on stage was a lot of fun. (Too scary for me, I’d say).
• “Doom Eternal” is coming out on November 22 (trailer) and it looks devilishly good.
• “Fallout 76” gets a huge (free) DLC in Fall 2019, plus battle royale, and it’s free to try from today for a week (trailer).
• Also, Bethesda has new tech to make streaming games faster with lower requirements.
• The Id Software classic “Commander Keen” is coming back as an iOS/Android game but … no one wants that? (I’m borderline irate over this. My colleagues think I’m nuts. Kotaku is with me, at least.)
• And possibly the biggest news: “Final Fantasy VII Remake” will be released on March 3rd, 2020 (Engadget).

More to come: There's a PC gaming Show conference today, Ubisoft also has announcements today along with Square Enix, with Nintendo taking over tomorrow. (There's no Sony PlayStation event at E3 2019, just in case you'd forgotten!)

TV for playing 6G / 7G consoles

Hi everyone,

I'm not sur I am at the good /r, since I will ask advices for 2000~ gaming consoles.

I would like to play to my old consoles (xbox, ps2, gamecube mainly), but I'm afraid that my new TV will make everything blury as hell. So I am looking for advices to buy a TV dedicated to that purpose.

I also want to discovers older consoles (I was too young back then), so I just buy mini NES / SNES and I want to play it with the same TV. At least, I will maybe also play with my xbox 360, ps3, wii on it, but not really sure.

So my question is : should I look for flat screen anyway, with a 1080 resolution ? Or a 720 will be enough ? Or should I look for older TV technology ?

I'm calling it on running the raid today, but am setting the whole day aside tomorrow (Sunday, June 9) to get it done.

I'm saving spots for everyone who replied to my last posts, no need to worry there, but I'm looking for as many people that are interested as possible, in case we need reserves or someone bails or something

If you're interested in running the raid on Sunday, June 9:

• Set aside 3-5 hours, just to play it safe. It shouldn't take us that whole timeframe, but you never know.

• Get your Power Level as high as you can. 700 is the minimum here. It'll be tough at that level, but still doable. I'm at 720.

• Keep a clear mind. No one wants to get heated. If you can vent a frustration without being mean about it, cool. Generally, just don't be a dick.

• Raid experience is NOT required. It's definitely helpful, but I won't deny you a spot on the team if you've never done one before.

Can you survive this crossover?

On a desert planet named Planet Riftia, there lives a man named Rifter (original character). Rifter can open dimensional rifts, fly, and is invulnerable, physically strong, and highly intelligent. He doesn't need to eat, sleep, drink or breathe. He's 5 foot 10 inches tall.

Rifter decides to take over the multiverse. To do that, he must take the most important object from each universe and place it in his own universe. After he has done that for every universe, he will gain total omnipotence over the multiverse, and he'll be truly unstoppable.

Rifter will NOT gain omnipotence until he has collected the most important item from EVERY universe.

Just to clarify, Rifter only opens one rift at a time, when he's travelling to and from dimensions. He also makes rifts sometimes if he's attacking, or summoning an object he wants, or something like that. When he's done using a rift, he closes it.

However, Rifter will have to open many rifts along his journey. He opens so much rifts, that the space time continuum becomes unstable, resulting in random rifts opening and closing throughout the multiverse. Rifter isn't aware on how to make space time less unstable, so as his journey goes on, more and more random rifts will appear.

The random rifts will occur so often, that is it guranteed you will get sucked into one and experience at least 90% of the universes.

Rifter will start in his own universe. The universe he goes to first will be Real Life. After that, he'll do the rest in a random order.

Events:

• Rifter finds a magical rock (from his universe) that grants him the power to detect objects he needs
• Rifter steals the Earth's entire water supply, because water is the object from Real Life that he needs
• The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (Portal) can now work on any flat surface that isn't made out of Lego bricks.
• The Lego Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (Lego Portal) can now work on any flat surface that is made out of Lego bricks.
• Lord Vortech (Lego Dimensions) is freed from his prison via a random rift from Rifter.
• The greens (Lifeline) begin spreading around the multiverse
• Diseases from Plague Inc begin spreading around the multiverse
• Tabuu (Super Smash Bros.) is brought back to life
