HD60X - visual quality on monitor goes down?

I’m using an Elgato HD60X. I’m using it to stream gameplay from my Xbox Series X to OBS on my desktop. Is it normal for my visual quality on my monitor (the one I’m using and looking at while actually playing my game) to go way down? Like it’s pretty noticeable. The colors seem to get slightly brighter and washed out and it’s almost like I’m not playing 1080p but instead 720 or something. Has anyone else had this kind of issue?

Crown refund ticket mixup.

Long story short I went to preview something in the Crown store. Purchased by mistake instead (720 crowns)

(XBOX) Opened a ticket asking for any chance of a refund and then a response was sent to my email that is linked to my PC account asking if I wanted the refund. I reply saying yes please and then receive another email saying that the email I've just replied from was invalid and please respond using the email that originally Opened the ticket..

OK so..

I go to the website, log in, change my contact email to the email that my xbox account is linked to, open another ticket (as i thought my responses werent going through/1st ticket is void) asking if they can refund, I get a response to the second ticket in my pc linked gmail inbox again despite having just changed contact information saying that they will process a refund...

I log in today to find that a refund has been processed twice, so instead of getting 720 crowns I got 1440 crowns returned.

I have Opened a ticket to ask if they can remove 720 crowns, but im limited to how much text i can put in there so i cannot explain in depth whats happened and im freaking out abit because ive heard of people getting banned in these scenarios..

Can anyone advise or at least put my mind at rest, I've put too much work into this game to lose my account over something that Zeni is essentially at fault for here..I mean if my Gmail account was an email that was invalid to respond on, then why would they send a ticket response to a different email than the one that opened the ticket in the first place?

Worried and frustrated.. i hope they just take the 720 crowns back so it's refunded correctly and I can play and spend crowns without worrying of randomly being banned over a stupid mistake and x2 tickets being opened simply because I was told my email was invalid and please could i respond using the original one -.-

Only 720p TV output?

I have an OLED model (I had the original prior) and no matter what method of input I use for TV every single game only supports 720p resolution, resulting in a highly pixelated picture which looks worse than the Xbox 360. The thing is, this is a 4K/120hz LG LED TV, and the HDMI cable supports 4K resolution. For the input, I have no fewer than 3 types of HDMI adapters (one being a 3rd party dock), and ALL of them only allow the games to project in 720p. The main adapter I use is the Apple HDMI Multiport adapter: I know it supports 4K/60FPS because it does so when my Mac and iPad are plugged in with it. Furthermore, for all three adapters including this one, the actual steam deck settings itself do show that the system is running at full 4K resolution and in full screen. It’s simply when I boot up a game, that the in game graphic settings never go beyond 720p. Need help part 2

Posted this a couple days ago but wanting to post a new thread to try and reach more people who can help: https://www.reddit.com/r/obs/comments/19ac338/twitch_stream_disconnected_four_times_tonight/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

I'm having issues where my stream just disconnects and then after 30 seconds or so, Twitch starts a new stream once it reconnects.

I am streaming over WiFi which is a sin, I know. But this was never an issue over Xbox, and I'm getting over 300 upload and download on my PC. And I never have disconnection issues on my other devices. I can't run ethernet traditionally considering the layout of my house.

Is there anything in OBS/PC/Twitch settings that I can change to fix this? If not, what can I do to fix this issue without running a traditional ethernet cable set up? Could it be something as simple as changing to 720 or lowering bitrate? (I'm mostly illiterate when it comes to this stuff)

Crashes Every Other Load, Can't Figure This Out!

Okay, I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why Playnite crashes every 1 or 2 launches. I've been disabling add-ons, themes, messing with settings, you name it. If there is anyone smart who can decipher my log file, and point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen occasionally goes black for a split second, showing only the mouse cursor

My computer running Windows 10 has been having an issue where the screen occasionally turns black for a fraction of a second. It's not the input or signal because during this issue, the screen is actually on and I only see a mouse cursor or the blue "loading circle" that replaces the mouse on the black background before the picture is restored.

It would only be a minor annoyance if it didn't remove control in my game until I alt-tab back into it.

I am convinced that some sort of background process is the cause but am having trouble determining which one it is. I used tasklist to get a list of the background processes that are running during the issue, which I've listed below, and would be grateful if anyone could help me narrow down the culprit.

If anyone can help me get to the cause of the issue I would appreciate it!

Wireless steam deck has less latency stream than wired 3rd gen apple tv

Im a bit confused with the quality and feel of the stream on both of these devices. When I stream to the Steam Deck (handheld mode, not to TV) via wifi it feels flawless. Naturally I thought the latest apple tv with a wired connection would feel at least equally as good. Important to note, PC is wired as well.

There is however noticeable lag. My first though was that maybe it was related to the controller being connected via bluetooth to the apple tv, therefore adding input latency. Since the pc is in the next room I decided to stream to the apple tv but connect the controller to the pc directly via controller wireless adapter (adapter in question: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/controllers/xbox-wireless-controller-adapter-windows). This is what I use to play locally on the pc and it works perfectly of course. This however doesnt solve the problem I feel the same amount of lag as if I connected the controller to the apple tv via BT.

A few things to note:

1. When streaming to the steam deck the pc res is set to 4k 120hz but the stream caps at 1280×800 60hz of course.
2. When streaming to the apple tv the pc res is set to 4k 120hz but I have tried setting the stream to 720, 1080, 1440 and 4k (all at 60hz) and they all feel the same in terms of latency.

Is it a processor thing? Is the stream deck able to decode the feed more efficiently than the apple tv? Thats the only thing I can think of seeing as one is wired and "should" perform better but doesnt.

Any ideas what could be going on? Is the apple tv just not the way to go?

Why is my frame pacing so inconsistent in Overwatch 2? Extensively documented post.

Hello, my frame pacing in OW 2 felt really bad, and I did some tests and sure enough it is really bad. In this post I will compare a variety of matches/modes from OW 2 to a 3v3 bot match from Rocket League. Before you say it: even if I stack the deck in OW's favor by playing an extremely simple game with resolution turned to 720, frametime fluctuations at the framerate cap are still terrible.

I am attempting to play both video games at native 1440p with low settings. For all these tests, I used the nvidia control panel framerate cap of 230 and g-sync. A screenshot of my NVCP settings is included. I have tried capping frames a number of different ways in OW 2 and saw no improvement. I have tried using 600fps cap and no g-sync and it felt even worse. I want to be clear: my machine actually dipping beneath the frame cap is not happening. It is not the problem here. Frame pacing is the problem.

As you can see, my machine is more than capable of running both these games at rock steady 300fps or higher, even in OW 2 workshop stress test mode DK3VN, even at 1440p. However, for some reason which I hope to learn from you all, Overwatch 2's framepacing/frametimes are stuttery bullshit, fluctuating all over the place from 4.9ms to 6.5ms, constantly. this can be felt in game as microstutters.

Please look through the included album of images, which include afterburner test results in the two games, OW 2 settings, and NVCP settings. The red lines in the afterburner screenshots indicate the test periods.

Note that the worst performance of all is in Seita's aim trainer, where I am whipping my mouse around to aim the most. I considered the possibility that it was my mouse that was causing the issues, so I tried playing with an xbox controller. Similar results, but not included in the post.

Please let me know of any questions, and let me know what settings I can try to improve this. Perhaps most importantly, is this what your afterburner test results look like?

Final, additional context: I recently upgraded from a 2080ti to 4070ti. Before running these tests I reinstalled nvidia drivers, then went ahead and did a full windows 11 reinstall. I was disappointed with the way the game felt, and am considering returning the GPU. However, testing my machine in rocket league shows the perfect performance I would expect, so my hypothesis is now that OW 2 is the problem, not the new GPU. Maybe I had these issues with the 2080ti and didn't notice them - at the community's request, I can put the 2080ti back in the machine and run more tests. For now I want to see what everyone thinks using just this GPU. I doubt there is anything wrong with it.

WTF is this shit? I know it's a new game, but am I paying for a service that I can't use whenever I want? Geforce Now has a lot less money than Microsoft, but they still created a product with better streaming quality and fewer queues, can't Microsoft do that?

About to pull the trigger on a Sony X90l. Best tv for my situation?

After a few days of research I’ve narrowed it down to the x90l because of the upscaling abilities. I mainly use it for sports that I stream from websites that are usually 720 or 1080 at best. I have a Xbox s hooked up to it too but I only game for around 3 hours a week. My fiancé and I watch a movie about once a week but we really enjoy it when we do. Viewing is 8’ from couch but sometimes watch it while we’re cooking in the kitchen which is about 12’ so that’s why we’re getting the 75”. Do you guys think this is the best tv for my situation or is there another (preferably cheaper) model that I’m overlooking?

YouTube 4k won’t work for select creators

How come I can’t watch for example dr disrespect and Zlaner at 4k on my Xbox YouTube app (stuck at 720 p max) but I can watch at 4k on my tv YouTube app? But Xbox YouTube app will let me watch other videos at 4k.

Skyrim will always be my perfect game.

I grew up with computers from the atari 2600 through c64 then snes, n64 and all the rest. I also gamed on PC and have just recently bought a decent PC. I play a lot of different titles but for me, Skyrim is special. I played through it on an xbox 360, then played it on my PC which went from a 720 GT to a GTX 660. I now have a 4060ti and I own and play a lot better games, but for me Skyrim has a feel and a love to it I can't find anywhere else.

I've gone through this recent playthrough completely vanilla, no fast travel, reading books I find, because THIS GAME IS SO WELL MADE. I get into other games and I get lost in lore. Skyrim pulls me back every time. The soundtrack, the asthetic, the controls even.

Best game ever.

remote play resolution

I've testing the remote play on xsx and xss on iphone, idk why but the video quality seems not comparable to ps 5, and they're both hard wired. If ps 5 is 1080p then xbox should be 720 max. Am I doing anything wrong or is it supposed be like this?

Canadian electrician, outlet in cupboard

Just a shower thought, I am a journeyman electrician in Canada. 26-720 (h) states that no outlet shall be in a cupboard, cabinet or similar enclosure without being de-energized when the door is closed. There are some exceptions like microwaves and things that are built in. However in my career I have seen many outlets in cabinets for Xbox’s, sound systems and things like that. I’ve never heard of an inspector failing for this. A client asked me to put an outlet below their vanity to have their toothbrush charging out of sight, I said it would need to be de-energized when the door is closed.

Has anyone else done something like that? Or why is it allowed in living room built ins but not in bathrooms. I understand doing that for toasters and things that generate heat.
