Older games just look different on the new gen consoles.

Thinking about how much performance the series x has got me wondering what it would be like playing older Xbox one titles. All titles wore played in 4k at 60fps .but switched to 1080 and 720 one some title to see if it made any difference. It did not.

I started with Call of Duty, modern warfare remastered. I remembered playing this on the Xbox One x, and it it looked pretty good in 4k UHD . This was not the case with the series x, tho . Menu areas looked fine, but once the game started, there was this overly pixelated look to everything. Panning side to side also felt extremely fast, and it wasn't due to my game settings. The colors, on the other hand, looked very vivid. It didn't look bad standing still, tho . It just looked off when in motion, and I had already disabled motion blur, so that was the best it was going to get.

Skate 3 was next . It looked just like it did all those years ago. Nothing about it felt off. I've come to attribute that to it being on game pass ultimate.

Next was forza horizon 2 . I'll start by saying this game was truly a masterpiece. And it still held up pretty well today ,except it had the same overly pixelated textures as the old call of duty . But it was more geared towards the smaller, more detailed textures like the grass and road lines . The vehicles had this shine to them, and it wasn't because of the paint choices .

The next one really surprised me . I loaded up gta 5, the Xbox One version, and we had the call of duty effects again. The lines in the road seemed choppy , but I figured oh its because there is a series x version, so I loaded that one up... no, same issues, except now, the game loaded slot faster. It seems the loading is not tied to the consoles performance ,instead, it's about what version you're using .

Last but not least, it was fight night round 3, and this game ran absolutely great and looked identical to the quality outputed by the Xbox One x. I was generally surprised.

I tried to stick to games that wore Xbox Ones x enhanced but also didn't have a series s/ x version . I was starting to think the over pixelation was due to playing in 4k but the Xbox one x upconverted these title and they never looked this, so it leads me to belive the ray tracing is the reason but ether way it was a great way to spend a few hours reliving some of the greatest titles from that Era and I might even leave a few of them on my series x to go back to when things get boring again .

Einkommen

Ich bekomme kein Kindergeld mehr, da ich über 25 Jahre alt bin. Daher bin ich auch nicht mehr im konsekutiven Master eingeschrieben. Dafür konnte ich mein Nettogehalt durch Stufenaufstieg und Tariferhöhungen steigern und habe somit ca. 280€ netto mehr zur Verfügung als vor zwei Jahren.

Regelmäßige Ausgaben

Ich habe die Amex Platinum abgeschafft und bin aus meinem Berufsverband ausgetreten. Gleichzeitig bin ich in die PKV gewechselt und habe mich gegen Berufsunfähigkeit versichert. Mit beiden Versicherungen fühle ich mich bisher sehr wohl, mal sehen wie sich das entwickelt. ÖPNV ist dank Deutschlandticket günstiger geworden, ich zahle nicht mehr für Amazon Prime und Netflix habe ich jetzt aus der Türkei. Ich gehe regelmäßig ins Fitnessstudio. Meine All-inclusive Miete in der 2er WG ist unverändert geblieben. Wahrscheinlich ist diese Wohnung der größte Glücksfall, der mir finanziell passieren konnte.

Täglicher Bedarf

Hier hat sich wenig getan, ich gehe immer noch viel auswärts essen und bestellen. Bin weiterhin glücklich damit.

Sparen/Investieren

Absolute Sparrate ist unverändert, 6000€ liquide Reserve weiterhin vorhanden und bisher keinen Grund gefunden, diese auszubauen. Im Sankey ist ein Fehler, einmal 180€ gehen in den iShares MSCI World Small Cap.

Reisen

Nach wie vor mein größtes Hobby und der mit Abstand größte Kostenpunkt. Bereue aber nichts und kann das Reisen in jungen Jahren ohne Verpflichtungen nur empfehlen. Jahresausgaben hierfür insgesamt 8452€.

Freizeit

Habe mir letzten Monat neue Elektronik angeschafft und das BahnCard Jahresabo bezahlt, darüber hinaus auswärts Essen/Trinken weiterhin der größte Kostenfaktor. Ich war letzten Monat nicht beim Friseur (normal 30€) und habe nichts für Klamotten oder Schuhe ausgegeben.

Trying to find a 32-inch 1080p screen with no luck.

So, i haven't really updated my bedroom tv for about 11 years. I've been using a 27inch 1080p samsung all this time, and i never felt the need to get a newer tv with smart features because of the xbox i have hooked up to mine. But the time has come where my samsung has a sort of white cloud of pixels in it that keeps growing, and i'm also moving out, so i'll need one anyway.

The problem is, like i said i have a 1080p screen, and anything bellow that is really noticeable for me no matter the distance. Well, maybe that could matter, but it won't since that's the tv for the bedroom. I don't have much space on the wall, and 40inches may already be a strech.

Almost all tvs i can find in my country(brazil), are 720p at 32inches, and the only models with 1080p are a tcl one that seems to have only 1gb of ram, which would mean crap perfomance, and other brands are overpriced enough that i might just get a better tv altogether and risk it not fitting on the wall.

Another problem would be that i need to use the tv smart system, since i'll need it for bluetooth on a variety of devices, and i also don't want my xbox being turned on everytime my wife wants to watch netflix.

So the problems are:

1 - i don't want to downgrade from 1080 to 720, since it is very noticeable for me.

2- I may barely have enough space for a 40-inch screen, but i'm not confident it will fit.

3 - I'm not willing to get ripped of for a resolution i know isn't worth the price.

4 - I need the tv to actually be good, since i won't use the xbox as a medium for this one all the time.

That said, does anyone know any tv model that might do the trick(It doesn't need to be country specific)?

If you look at the videos of the pachislot of the first generation which came out in 2003, you can tell it is pretty much Dreamcast graphics:

The money ranked up by FOTNS pachinko and pachislot as of 2020 is over 10 billion dollars.

Of course Sega used its Dreamcast parts up until 2009 for minor arcade games (after attempting to explore alot of other avenues including Xbox backwards compatibility and non-gaming related things), including lucrative kids card arcade games in Japan. But the main money maker for them for sure were those pachi games, and it's nice to know that it isn't completely divorced from Sega history. Its these profits that made Sega continue, including making company acquisitions that happened right after, including Creative Assembly in 2005 and Sports Interactive 2006.

My honest opinion about Mock Nostalgia and stuff I hate about it

There has been this trend on YouTube called Y2Ktubers, or Mock Nostalgia, made famous by Cooper 2723 and Doober 43.
Is this YouTuber stuck in 2007–2015? made by Michael P, inspired by old YouTube channels from 2008
I knew this type of genre existed for a long time, but I haven't done it, until i made one, (yes I do have one but I wont tell its name)

Okay, here is my opinion.
It's just fucking stupid kids using Retrostudio and making it "nostalgic" and screaming in the microphone and using KineMaster.

These are just stupid kids who called Goober 38, Yooper 2038, or some shit trying to be the next Cooper, Doober, or whatever.
It's just dumb, but I've seen ones that actually try, but still, this is the most uncreative community on YouTube.

This boomer needs help

The last generation Xbox, I owned was an Xbox 360, and I’ve only been playing retro games for the last 15 years or so.

I need help with knowing what I should purchase next.

Essentially, I plan on using this for only one or two video games. It’s really for me to jump on Xbox live and play modern warfare three and probably Apex legends with my friends once a week. Next generation graphics are definitely not a sticking point for me, as this system will likely be hooked up on a 720 P television anyways. It’s the one I have in my basement.

I thought the series S digital would work for me, but my friend tells me I probably won’t have even enough storage to play modern warfare three and Apex legends… Is this true that modern systems can only hold one or two video games? Thats kinda mind blowing. He told me I should look into the series S 1TB black but at the price point, I feel like I might as well spend the 50 more dollars and get the series X but I’m barely going to play this as it is so to get the top of the line system I feel as overkill.

Can you help an old man out? What system will get the job done?

Making the “Cut” - who uses LG tv apps?

Finally cutting the cord. I’ve sifted through the sub and am planning to use my smart tv apps.

That said, I have an Xfinity Flex and an Xbox One X. We already know Flex is a disaster - excluding true 4k output content, the quality looks to be between 720-1080… My Xbox is nearing its end of life. So, leaning towards TV Apps for now.

Anyone having issues with LG tv apps? Any hidden gems? Should I return the turd (Xfinity flex) with a bow on it to avoid temptation? Lol.

Xbox turns off completely after playing BG3 fir ~10 minutes

I can't seem to find a solution for this anywhere online. I can only play the game for roughly 10 minutes before my Xbox Series X just completely shuts off. I have tried all these methods to troubleshoot and nothing has made a bit of difference:

1. Added external fan on top
2. Added a fan behind the system
3. Added a fan in front
4. Cleared cache
5. Unplugged system for 30+ seconds to reset the power supply
6. Used compressed air to clean out dust
7. Took back panel off the system and cleaned out dust with microfiber cloth
8. Reduced framerate from 60 to 30
9. Turned off autosave
10. Reduced resolution from 1080 to 720
11. Switched from ethernet to wifi
12. Uninstalled half of my game library

No other game has this effect on my Xbox other than BG3. I don't know what else to do! I wanted to play this game so badly.

Better at ~720$ (670€)? (With dgpu)

So i wanted for a long time something to game on on the tv, at my friend's house, grandmother's house and vacation and i found that mini pc are the best option for now. Im a noob in mini pc and tech in general also. My dad is gonne let me have his desktop pc because he is gonna buy a prebuilt (the one he is gonna give me is great for 1080p gaming with rtx 2070, won't change until it dies or too old) and i wanted something light to game AAA and esport/less demanding games with friends. First i thought about xbox, but it's just not gonna do it with the game pass and all it's gonna cost more in the long run. Also not laptop, don't need the screen nor the battery and for ~720$ it's worse than mini pcs i found. So i stumbled across hx77g, was perfect but a little too much for me, i don't want something that good. And after some research the Nuc phantom canyon seems to be the perfect fit with enough performance but i want to be sure that there is nothing else good/better at that price range (with ssd and ram included. I already bought 16 gigs of ram sodimm and 2tb ssd for 109€ and the nuc phantom is 558€ right now, so that's 667€ (720$) and i can still send back the ssd and ram if something is better). So is there something better/as good ??

Tl;dr : nuc phantom is gud at 720$ for my usecase with ssd & ram included in price, is there another better/good mini pc at that price range with dgpu ?

Duel Output Setup . . . Does a Splitter between my 5.1 receiver and two different screens work?

Hi all,

Iny living room, I've got an Xbox Series X that I mainly use for all our media. I also have an old 50' Panasonic Plasma 720 (yeah, I know but I live it) that we use for our main TV watching, and I also have set up a Epson 4K projector in the same room, with a pulldown screen for movie night.

I just set up a surround system, and currently have it set up with our projector . . . But I'd like to have it set up for TV, too, so that I don't have to mess with switching around cables.

Sooo . . .

Can I have a set up where I have the Xbox going into the receiver and then an HDMI cable going out to splitter, where one goes to our TV and one goes to the projector?

Would the surround work for each?

Any considerations I need to know?
