Duel Output Setup . . . Does a Splitter between my 5.1 receiver and two different screens work?

Hi all,

Iny living room, I've got an Xbox Series X that I mainly use for all our media. I also have an old 50' Panasonic Plasma 720 (yeah, I know but I live it) that we use for our main TV watching, and I also have set up a Epson 4K projector in the same room, with a pulldown screen for movie night.

I just set up a surround system, and currently have it set up with our projector . . . But I'd like to have it set up for TV, too, so that I don't have to mess with switching around cables.

Sooo . . .

Can I have a set up where I have the Xbox going into the receiver and then an HDMI cable going out to splitter, where one goes to our TV and one goes to the projector?

Would the surround work for each?

Any considerations I need to know?
