For those that are trying to run Rocket League on your Mac or Hackintosh and are having lagging issues in Online Play and suffering with sub-30 FPS, I found a fix that's worked for me that I found on reddit.
First of all you won't ever be able to run everything on high quality. Mac's aren't good when it comes to games, unless you dual boot windows. (Even with decent graphics cards, people still have trouble.)
Here are the video settings that have seemed to work for me: WINDOW SETTINGS: Resolution-1280 x 720 | Windowmode-Windowed | Vertical Sync-checked
BASIC SETTINGS: Anti Alias-Off (didn't really notice differences changing this) | Render Quality-High Quality | Render Detail-Custom | Max FPS-250
ADVANCED SETTINGS: Texture Detail-High Performance | World Detail-Performance | Check Boxes-all UNCHECKED
Even after these settings were in place, I was still lagging in online play. So the solution that worked was changing my DNS Server to google servers. Which are: Primary 8.8.8.8 and Secondary 8.8.4.4. As soon as I switched the DNS server the lag went away and was playing as smooth as my Xbox One was. This may or may not work for you, but thought I'd put it out there for those that are stuck and haven't tried this. Side Note: Xbox One controllers work just fine if your used to console gaming. Just find the driver online and sync it up with steam.
Now these settings are what works for my build: macOS Sierra 10.12.2 iMac Late 2015- Intel 3.19 GHz Intel Core i5 6500- 8gb 2132 MHz DDR4- Intel Integrated HD Graphics 530 1536 MB- As you see I don't even have a graphics card and I just use my integrated graphics that are on my CPU.
Let me know if you have any questions
