**Edit: My cheap vizio doesn't recognize 480p widescreen. 720p games run correctly in full widescreen while 480p games that support widescreen just get squished into 4:3 which after using the TVs stretch function display properly. If theres anything I missing that might help display 480p widescreen let me know but at this point Im pretty sure its a limitation of the TV. /edit
After a ton of searching Ive found that only NTSC supports HD and being that my xbox is NTSC Im having issues troubleshooting this.
First off my xbox is a V1.0 and flashed, I don't have the bios off hand but I can get it. I don't have a DVD drive atm, everything is off an unlocked aftermarket HD.
XBMC gives me 1080i and EVOX is in 480p so the cables are good.
EVOX is reporting Region 1 NTSC
Heres the best clue I have for what might be going on:
The game region in EVOX is set to auto, msdash opens up and I can set all the video settings properly but I always just get 480i. If I set it to default in EVOX instead of auto same thing BUT if I set it to NTSC (North America) I get an error 21 opening msdash and EVOX hangs on the loading screen for MSgames.
So, do I have the wrong msdash? Seems like this is a region setting problem but Im not sure where to begin. Ive messed around a lot with this xbox and I had it running HD a long while back but since moving it to an SDTV for the past 10yrs Ive rebuild the hard drive, updated software and generally messed with it. Any ideas?
