Weird display lag issue with a Dell PQ2415

P2415Q (I got the name wrong :P)

The basic issue is display lag, I'm not quite sure how to fix it.

Note: It works perfectly with my Xbox One

I have tried every resolution setting and, strangely enough, the lag does not happen when the resolution is set at 1280X720. That's great, and it might provide a clue to someone on the nature of the problem, but it is a massive resolution, Which I can't really use...

That said, other than the size issue the monitor works perfectly at this resolution.

There are a few other resolution settings (most [like 2 others] of them are about 1280x720) that also stop the lagging but they all have similar issues.

Any suggestions to get the thing running better on a more realistic resolution?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)

Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

Serial Number: Yeah right.

Oh the Refresh rate says 30 Hertz

(also 1540x860 has lag if that means anything to anyone)
