i5-2500 Sufficient for getting started?

I've been gradually getting hardware and my act together to start a regular stream for many months. My plan has been to build a new streaming box (or two) before starting but finances are such at the moment that it's really not doable right now, exactly, but I would love to go ahead and get started with my stream. I'm mostly a console gamer these days and haven't significantly upgraded my PC in a few years and I'm wondering if my old i5-2500 CPU will be able to handle streaming in a dedicated streaming box. Google yields a few old discussions about the overclocked version of this chip that seem to go either way but I can't find anything recent and I'm not overclocking.

Current specs:

-Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155

-MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

-20GB SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) -- (2 x 16GB + 2 x 2GB Ripjaws)

-MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti GAMING DirectX 12 N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

-ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

-SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB SATA 6Gb/s 1x nm Samsung Toggle DDR 2.0 3-Bit MLC NAND Flash Memory (400Mbps) SSD

-Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W Bronze PSU

-AVerMedia C985 Live Gamer HD - Capture Card

-Upload speed: 859.67 Mbps as per the speed test I did 5 mins ago. (We have fast internet here)

I think that's everything relevant. It's worth noting that I'm mostly a console gamer of late, besides some older MMOs, which is why I haven't significantly upgraded my PC in so long, and I plan to get started with streaming a lot of my pile of Xbox 360 games through this rig to start, but it would be great to be able to do the same with PC and Xbox One at some point. The OBS Estimator, if I'm doing it right, says I should be fine with 720 at 30fps pending CPU usage, but I'd really like to hear what experienced streamers/hardware gurus have to say.

Question about that....Is 30fps that bad? I've seen people say it's fine and I've seen people say it looks awful. Being new, I have no idea, but I thought I would ask because I do know that gamers are notorious for calling anything below optimal bad. I probably do it myself, at times.

Also, I do plan to upgrade when I am able. What current processors and mobos should I be looking at to replace what I have? Thought I would ask here because it would be for streaming and I like to shoot for what's best for the job and budget for it...I'm just really rusty on what's current. And I'm happy with waiting until then if this won't work, of course, I just would really love to get started if I can.

Thank you SO very much in advance for any feedback anyone has to offer.
