Buying a TV but not sure what to buy?

So I accidentally bumped into my dresser where my 32 inch insignia was sitting on and the tv flipped over. I caught it before it hit the ground(the cords were holding it up) but I guess it hit the dresser and now you cant see a thing. The glass itself isn't cracked it's just this weird white image with rainbow colors.

The TV was like 200 dollars and it was from 2 years ago so I seriously doubt it is worth a repair tbh....

I am looking at buying a new tv(a cheap one) for like 150 or less for my place at college. I perused Walmart and Best Buy....

My options are

  • 24 inch 1080P tv

  • 32 inch 720p

My general usage is for the usual xbox and tv watching. I am not one to care about specs or anything. But I want to know what is better to buy.

  • Westinghouse 32 inch LED TV 720p for $130
  • Samsung 24 inch LED TV 1080 P for $150

Walmart has an LG tv 24 inch for $99 and Best Buy has a Westinghouse 24 inch tv for $99

Ideally, I guess what I am wanting to know is - Which is better to buy? Smaller higher res or larger low res - Is Westinghouse any good? I am leaning towards the Westinghouse 24 inch, if that is a good ratio to buy.

I liked insignia but I rather try something new(even though they have some good deals at best buy for insignia).
