TCL 4K Uverse Issues

Recent new owner of a 4K TV and need some help please. I just purchased and setup a TCL 65S535 ROKU TV and am having issues getting the TV to recognize the ATT UVerse cable box.

Connected via HDMI. I've tried all combinations of cables and ports and with the UVerse box I get a "no signal" error. All cables and ports work great with an Xbox.

ATT tech came today and we were able to get a picture but had to switch the box output to SD. When we tried to pick 720 it went to no signal. Tried new box as well. And the UVerse box works on an old Vizio I have.

I would have already assumed the TV is the problem except the Xbox is looking great. Same cables and ports. And I plugged in a roku stick and it works great.

Is there something different about the signals that would make one device ok and another not?

thanks for any help or insights. I'm just about to send it back for a replacement. Other than this I like the TV alot.
