Recording In 4K HDR and Exporting In 1080p?

Hey Everyone.

So I’m recording gameplay on the Xbox series X and I wondered is there any point recording in 4K and exporting in 1080p on Final Cut Pro?

Or should I just export in 4K....

Also with my videos I add lots of clips/memes that are not shot in 4K. Some are 1080p, some are 720 and even really bad quality ones.

so I’m not sure if that will affect anything (like the base 4K footage) when it comes to exporting.

Ideally my aim is to improve the look and quality of my video. It doesn’t look bad now but wanting to make it better.

You don’t seem to see many Gaming YouTubers use 4K quality in every video. I’m not sure if there is a reason behind this? Maybe because the file size is too big etc

Just looking for some suggestions as I’m not that familiar when it comes to all this type of stuff 😂
