All I want is to stream to Twitch at 60fps. Sounds simple, right? Nope.
The Twitch app only supports streaming at 30fps, and there's no simple way around this.
I have my xbox connect to an LG CX. I play at 4K and 120fps if the game offers it. All I want to do is stream to Twitch at 60fps, I don't even care if it's at 720p.
So, I bought an Elgato HD60S capture card for $150 since it has HDMI passthrough.
Terrible mistake. This dropped the quality of my picture on my TV down to what appeared to be sub-1080p and added a terrible amount of input delay. This caused me to send the capture card back.
I then thought "oh, no problem, I'll just stream my Xbox to my laptop and stream through OBS." NOPE. The Xbox app doesn't support the X|S consoles.
Then, I found the Game Streaming test app, which does what the regular Xbox app does by displaying what's on your TV on your PC. People have report success with this but no matter what I did, it will only allow me to use my laptop screen as a controller for the console, and won't actually display what's being shown on my TV.
It's 2021, and we have a console that reportedly can run certain games at EIGHT K ONE TWENTY FRAMES PER SECOND but we can't stream to freaking Twitch at 720/60.
Absolutely baffling.
