New hardware seems to be underperforming. Anyone mind helping reading my benchmark and specs and see if I could benefit from certain upgrades? Or if you know of anything to increase my performance, because I don't think it should be struggling to run games at a decent FPS as it now is

That moment when your savefile gets corrupted and you loose everything.

Literally lost 207M cr, was at 2 stars level (not that level matters but i guess i'll drop it along with the other stuff), had all the cars in the game except for 4 of the 8 pre-order cars (i had 2 pre-order porsches though, i used to have a 5th pre-order car but i was stupid enough to sell it after buying it early in the game, had no clue it was that rare, and that was the aston martin, was only missing the unreleased ford, the camaro and the aston which i previously owned and sold). Played the game just fine last week, updated it this week, decided to play it and voilá, game was not launching, reinstalled (after microsoft store warning me of potential file corruption in the game files), managed to play for 45 minutes or so, i did the online playgrounds championship for the new car, as soon as i finished that event with a win, game instantly closes (as i was receiving my rewards) and voilá for the second time. Except this time it was game over for me.

Seems like i have literally hit the very limits of this game when it comes to tunes, paints, cars, money, auctions. All of this stuff in excess increases the odds of your save getting corrupted in the end. I was around in the 740 cars mark, and the limit is 750, i did hit the limits a few times but after selling a bunch of rare dupes from quick snipes in the auction, i went down to 720 cars, this was after the auction house update, the new cars have slowly put me back to the limit (last week i was at 737 cars, so this week was most likely at 740 or so).

So yeah... time to call it quits on the forza games. This issue has been around since the start of this generation and seems to impact mostly/majorly forza games when it comes to saves, all the other exclusives have no issues at least from the quick searches i have done. State of decay 2 and GoW4 do not report corrupted save files but do instead report corrupt game files after updates, which was the initial issue for me aswell. And it bothers me to see that the unique official solution to this problem is indeed doing a reset on your progress. What's the point of playing a game online when all of a sudden you could be left naked and alone in the dark? I would rather invest my time and money playing other games, most importantly my backlog.

EDIT:

I'm going to throw in a tip that might help forza gamers on PC, BACKUP your saves manually once in a while, i have read a topic from late 2018 that you can force upload your local saved file into the cloud if you launch the game while having no internet (basically play offline), then connecting to the internet after you are in the game with the save file loaded, if you do this, the game will try to sync your local save file with the cloud and is likely to overwrite whatever is in the cloud with your local save file, meaning you can avoid corruption of your saved files in the cloud if you backup once in a while, i learnt this too late, but i might aswell give a heads up so that people can at least prevent it. BACKUP YOUR SAVES ON PC NOW!
This is the path you need to use to get to the save for FH4: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs , if you play any other forza game, try googling for the directory of the specific forza title on pc, it should be similiar to this one. Once you are in that directory, backup the wgs folder by making a copy and archiving it somewhere else that is safe.
Sadly, people on xbox one can't backup saved files since you can only delete saved files in your xbox, there is no move or copy option as microsoft as prevented that from being done.

How can I take full advantage of the 480i/240p Switching?

To force 480i for a system or game, you can create a '480i.txt' file inside the configuration folder of the system with a list of the file names (case insensitive, extension optional but recommended) you want to force.

If you wish to force 480i for a whole system, you can write "all" inside the '480i.txt' file.

Alternatively you can create a "240p.txt" file to force 480i to all games except for the ones inside the list.

You need to expand your file system via Raspi-Config. Follow these steps.

GBA, PSX, Neo-Geo, Sega-CD, PCE-CD, etc. games don't work!

I haven't included any bios's that didn't come with the retropie stock image, so you'll need to install the appropriate files in the BIOS folder. For Neo-Geo, I highly recommend the UniBios (renamed to neogeo.zip).

I want to switch back to lr-mupen64plus!

When launching an n64 game, mash buttons on the controller until the runcommand window comes up.
Select on "1 Set default emulator for n64" and choose "lr-mupen64plus"
Then "Q Exit (without launching)"
Launch the game again -- it will launch in the chosen emulator at the proper resolution

What A/V cable should I use for 3.5mm Composite?

I recommend the Zune A/V cable or XBOX 360E cable, you can find them on eBay and Amazon.

Samba Share won't work after I set up Wi-Fi!

Samba share service starts on boot, pending that a network is available. Configure your Wi-Fi then reboot first, and if that doesn't fix it then go into Retropie Setup > Configuration/Tools > Samba > Install Samba. Once it's complete, reboot and it should be golden.

Stream freezing issues?

I've been having issues with my stream (and others) periodically freezing which requires a browser refresh, and often times a single refresh is not sufficient to resolve it and it requires a few attempts.

This is while monitoring my own stream while I'm live.

I stream at 720/60 at 6k bitrate and it's very stable on the output from obs, >.5% framedrop over a 8 hour duration, stable 60 fps throughout. Just no real hiccups from my end. It seems almost like there is a brief connection drop to mixer which causes it to freeze.

I've tried disabling FTL on the playback, which sometimes prevents it and other times it does not. I've tried switching servers with no change. I've tried dropping my bitrate to 5k, still no change. I've tried adjusting my CPU preset, again no change. I cannot identify any issue with the stream from my output.

This issue also occurs occasionally while I'm watching the stream from my Xbox so it's not a browser issue.

It's not a huge deal from my end because I can just refresh and it will usually work fine, but I have one particular viewer who is a massive supporter for me but he has horrendous issues with mixer and watching the stream. Constantly freezing for him.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do, if this is in any way caused from my configuration and I can resolve the issue.

I strive for a high level of quality and professionalism in the stream and the idea that there may be massive freezing issues really bothers me because I have no idea how many viewers may come in, have the stream freeze, and then leave. I'm sure if happens a lot more frequently than I know.

I am not sure what the best monitor would be (It would have to be 1080p and 60hz but I don't know how to choose one) Also, how will games perform on this when compared to a ps4 or xbox one? Do I need a new tv to go with my new Xbox?

Hi! I won the Taco Bell Xbox one x eclipse bundle. I currently have the original ps4 and had the original Xbox one so my tv is only 720p hd*

My question is do I need to now go buy a new 4K tv/monitor in order to get the most out of my new Xbox one x or is the bump up from my current tv compared to a new one really worth it? And if it is worth it, any suggestions on what tv to buy? Thanks for the help!
