Game of Thrones Crave Livestreams Only 720p?

So like so many others, I too subscribed to Crave for Game of Thrones. I use the app on my Xbox One X, run through my 4K TV. I've noticed that the service seems to only steam LIVE in 720 though. Once an episode is loaded on demand, I can stream in 1080p completely fine - it's only when watching LIVE that it sticks at 720p.

Has anybody found a way around this? This past week's episode was abysmal to watch in 720p with how dark it was. I have a Chromecast and an iPhone - any chance this can cast the live stream at 1080p? Or am I stuck waiting until the episode airs to stream it at the proper quality?

Xbox One X no longer detecting HDMI output

Hello,

I am about to sell my Xbox One X and have factory reset it last week, I've turned it on again today for a last check and it's not showing anything in the output on TV.

I've put it into low res mode and it's appearing on screen there, but goes back on 720, 1080 and 1440, I've changed every setting in refresh rate, put it in 8-bit colour and even done another reset, but nothing has worked up to this point.

Has anybody managed to find a fix for this? The search I did didn't seem to find anything conclusive.

Thanks in advance

Mesh Vs Ethernet over powerline: The Results

TLDR: powerline is better. both adapters on doesnt help anything.

These are the results of a some quick tests. i didnt run them 20 times and take averages. just 1 time each. I was surprised about having both adapters on, i thought it might be smart enough to use both for more bandwidth, but nope. and i am guessing something else was going on with ookla on my upload speeds. i pay for 150mbs down and i think 5mbps up. all pucks read as "great" on the app in regards to connection.

my setup:

Mesh: Netgear Nas hard wired to 5 port gigabit ethernet switch, which is hard wired to the main google puck (this setup is on the floor, upstairs back of the house) technically its over the bottom stop of the stairs (if im standing on the bottom stair and put my hand up) i hope that makes sense. i have another puck downstairs, on the wall (6ft up), in the front of the house (near the PC in this test). i have a 3rd puck upstairs in the front of the house. though it has nothing to do with this test. just for reference of the setup.

Powerline (TP-Link TL-PA7010P KIT): i have 1 adapter hard wired to the same gigabit switch mentioned above which is hardwired to the main puck. i have the other adapter plugged into an outlet downstairs in the front of the house, its wired to a 5 port gigabit switch. that switch runs to a PC, PS4, nintendo and xbox.

i wondered how good this Mesh system was. so i ran a few test. 1 wired, 1 on wifi and one with both adapters on. i transfered video file back and forth from my NAS to the PC. i also ran ookla speed test on each setup, though i dont ever really rely on that test for network info (as you can see something funky was going on for my upload speeds). i just figured people still might want to know. i would also like to mention i went with the cheapest power adapters that had gigabit ethernet ports. many adapters rated from 300 to 1000mbps still only have 100mb ports... so i wanted to make sure the port itself wasnt holding anything back in my network.

note: the "Avg" i mention below is just what i saw with my eye, its not a calculated exact number. "2.58" means 2 minutes and 58 seconds.

File Size: 2.53Gbs in folder explorer (2,720,232,878 bytes in file properties)

LAN ONLY (ethernet over power adapters)

ookla: 12ms, 129.68Mbps down, 1.31Mbps up

NAS to PC (14.4MBs Avg) = 2.58

PC to NAS (17.9MBs Avg) = 2.25

Wifi ONLY (google mesh)

ookla: 15ms, 76.84 down, 5.96 down

NAS to PC (9MBs Avg) = 4.50

PC to NAS (15MBs Avg) = 2.51

Both adapters on:

ookla: 12ms, 121.53 down, 1.36 up

NAS to PC (9.2 MBs Avg) = 4.36

PC to NAS (14.5MBs) = 2.56

With the news that there is no DLC planned AS OF NOW for DMC5, let's predict when Vergil will be playable through the special edition.

Y'all seen the news, correct?

I have basically no faith in capcom because they're cashwhores and we all know the special edition is coming on the PS5/Xbox 720 or whatever it is.

So, i believe the special edition will come out at minimum 2022.

This has alot to do with the release date for the next generation of consoles as of course they are the only platforms capable of running this game at higher settings or running it at turbo mode with improved FPS as there are still plenty of FPS drops on the consoles. I'm a playstation fanboy so of course i'm going to talk about the release date for the PS5. The PS5 has been work in progress for over 5 years now and it has been CONFIRMED that the PS5 is not going to come out in 2019.

The PS5 will release in 2020 or 21, almost guaranteed. Why, you ask? Because the PS4 will have had the longest lifespan of a playstation console ever with it being 7 years since it's release when 2020 hits. The PS4 is getting old with extremely long load times on recent games. It's also been work in progress with some details (albeit really small) on its specs being revealed.

With no presence of the PS5 on this year's E3, this heavily implies a 2020 or 2021 release date. Like the ps3, it's probably gonna come out in november, but that's just a guess.

You might say that "well dmc4se came out 7 years after dmc4 so what makes you think that won't happen?"

You conveniently forgot about the game about the spanish devil hunter, El Donte. Diablo puede llorar in which he goes on an adventure with his long lost twin brother who's name is El Alfa y Al Amigo, El Vergin to look for the secret ingredient to make the spiciest taco ever.

That's why we got it so late. Look i'm just being optimistic here. If we get PS5 in 2020, it's probably gonna come out in 2021 or 22 because i think a year or two should be enough to make Vergil and the Ladies, right? Idk about that game designing shit so this is just a guess. Fuck it though, for all i know it's gonna come out in 2025.

Oh and i fucking know Matt said "at this point" implying that we could get a DLC later.

HELP! Xbox One S Flickering Screen and Can't change resolution!

Okay so it's a bit of a long story, basically, I have my xbox hooked up to a projector through an hdmi cable that runs throughout the walls. I turned on my xbox one day to discover it was very much on but there was nothing showing up. Eventually, after trying many things like a hard boot I discovered it was the cable's fault. I plugged the xbox into a separate tv with a different hdmi cable and it turned on but with the 640 x 480 res since i tried a reset of display settings once in the process of figuring out it was the hdmi cable. Anyway I try for a temporary solution to have my xbox on a stand near the projector (on the ceiling) and I plugged the xbox into the projector directly with the new hdmi cable. I turned it on to be greated by the normal green xbox one opening but with the low res, normal right? So i get into the xbox and go to settings and try to change the resolution back to 1080p, but when I click "640 x 480" to open the drop-down menu I see 720 and 1080 as options for a split second before the screen goes black. It stays black until I press the xbox button on the controller, at which point another minute will pass and then I will see the home screen of the xbox (not even the settings screen anymore). I've tried numerous things such as hard boots, unpluging etc but nothing seems to work and I've noticed that sometimes the screen will flash off for a couple seconds even without me pressing the resoultion button but it will happen every time i press the res button.

Hope I was specific enought, let me know if i need to clarify something for you.

Want to stream off my laptop and play on my desktop need some advice please :)

Hey so I just purchased a really nice desktop with a 2080 TI and it can stream perfectly but I have a gaming laptop that's collecting dust and I finally have some free time so I'd love to stream with it, but I am looking for a decent capture card not looking to spend 300$+ are there any external capture cards that do 720-1080 for a decent price? I read I could do it with reversed Ethernet cords through my network but it seems kinda confusing to setup so I was thinking of going with the capture card, also what software would I need are there any good tutorials or anything to show how to set it up? BTW Thanks so much for everyone's advice I've been googling for the past hour on this and just getting more confused by all the available options to do this with so any advice would be amazing. I have an old elgato I bought for xbox one streaming 4 years ago too if those work lol. Again I appreciate the help I try to research before posting here but use this as a last result when my brain just gets tired. I use streamlabs have about 3-4k followers 200 viewers on average just a part time streamer for fun with fortnite and dota 2. The laptop is an Acer Predator (1060 6gb) so it can handle the game very well to.

Dell U2718Q Question

As you can guess by the title, I have a question about my dell monitor and can’t find an answer online. I currently have my u2718q hooked up to my Xbox one x at 4K. When to go to settings I can do 720,1080, and 4K but when I try 1440p my monitor goes black. Would there be a way to fix this or does my monitor simply not support 1440p?

NEED URGENT HELP!

Hi everyone. I was playing with my Xbox One S last night perfectly fine and I when I was done, I decided to move my desk to another part of my room. Once I was done setting everything up, I hooked up my Xbox back to my monitor and nothing showed on the screen. It was just black and my monitor would tell me "Entering Power save mode". I tried unplugging the HDMI cable + the power cord and checking the monitor but nothing worked. Keep in mind I have a VGA to HDMI adapter which I've never had a problem with before.

I then moved my Xbox to the TV in my room. I hooked up an HDMI cable, made sure my TV was on the right HDMI and then it was just black. I tried doing a low-resolution display reset where I hold the power button to my Xbox for 5 seconds to turn it off and then I turn it back on by holding the eject button and power button at the same time. The Xbox turned on and I saw the logo on my screen, but everything was extremely low quality and squished. I was told to go to resolution settings to change this, I did, put the resolution on 720 and then 1080p and my screen just went black again.

I switched the Video mode to DVI and went to change my resolution and the screen looked fixed and everything looked fine but after 10 seconds the screen would just flicker. I'm not sure why this is going on as I have NEVER dropped my Xbox or anything that would cause this to be a hardware issue.

I've been so frustrated all last night and today and I just want to get back on gaming with my friends before my weekend ends. I would appreciate some help please!

Issues with X-Unleash skins at 1080P resolution.

Hey all,

I finally finished up my modded console, but I noticed that the resolution was a bit fuzzy even though it was using the Pound HDMI cable.

So I go poking around my settings and realized that in the XBox dash itself, the video settings were set to NO for 48 0, 720, and 1080. So I enabled them. After rebooting I noticed my X-Unleash dashboard skin was all skewed, like squished width-ways, and all the text was gigantic and misplaced from it's original placement elements in the UI.

Is there a fix for this? Do I need to find a 1080 version of the skin I use (if that's possible at this point in time)?

I would post video and screenshots but I'm at work, was talking to a friend about the issue when he suggested posting here about it.

A couple of questions...

I have an Onkyo AVR ( RZ-720) connected to Apple TV 4K / Nvidia Shield TV PRO / PS4 PRO / Xbox One X and a PC.

If i play the Atmos demo on PC my AVR shows the Atmos logo.

Also the XB1X shows the Atmos logo all the time.

Now all i;m trying to do is cast say from my iPhone to Apple TV or Shield TV 5.1 or even Atmos content from Youtube but i only get Stereo...

My HDMI cables are the right ones, and lets say if we'll troubleshoot one by one, the Nvidia Shield Pro shows in HDMI -> ABOUT that it shows HDCP 2.2 / Surround set to Auto / Stereo Upmix is off / Audio modes PCM 16bit, DD, DD+, DTS...

However if i try to cast for example this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKbFeAvkiOM

It should show 5.1...right? it only shows Stereo,...why is that?

Maybe if we can fix this, Atmos will be fixed too...with Atmos content...but same goes with Apple TV...same above youtube link...will only play as Stereo.

Factually deciding which Console is better for Gamers. PS4 vs XBOX ONE.

Since i think this "War" is stupid, im creating this Post to factually decide which Console has more advantages over the other. Facts can't be denied. Don't forget that People.

Since im bond to Facts, i can't describe every Plus/Minus thing there is. However i will add my Experience and opinion in the end of the Post for the People that are interested.

Every Source of anything i say are listed down below in the Post.

Since most Gamers have the old Models in their possession, i will only talk about them, and not about the PS4 Slim/XBOX ONE S or XBOX ONE X/PS4 Pro.

1.Price

I wouldn´t recommend buying the old Models new, since they are overpiced and you might also get the newer Models for the same Price at this Point. So i will go with the used Market, it totally depends on where you live. In some Countries XBOX ONE is gonna be cheaper, in some it´s the PS4. So there isn´t a Winner here.

WINNER: TIE

2.Sales

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 88,898,864

Xbox One Total Sales: 41,797,263

WINNER PS4

3.Hardware

Keep in mind that these two Consoles are just small Pc´s. So i will treat them as such.

CPU: Microsoft and Sony both opted for a semi-custom AMD APU — a 28nm part fabricated by TSMC that features an eight-core Jaguar CPU. The PS4 and Xbox One CPUs are virtually identical, except the Xbox One is clocked at 1.75GHz, while the PS4 is at 1.6GHz.

GPU: The Xbox One GPU has 12 compute units (768 shader processors), while the PS4 has 18 compute units (1,152 shaders). The PS4’s GPU is — on paper — 50 percent more powerful than the Xbox One.

RAM: While both consoles are outfitted with 8GB of RAM, the PS4 opts for 5500MHz GDDR5 RAM, while the Xbox One uses the more PC-like 2133MHz DDR3 RAM. This leads to a massive bandwidth advantage in favor of the PS4. The PS4’s CPU and GPU have 176GB/s of bandwidth to system RAM, while the Xbox One has just 68.3GB/s.

Storage: Both the Xbox One and PS4 have 500GB internal hard disks and Blu-ray optical drives, and you can get 1TB drives for each one as options. The Xbox One’s 1TB drive is actually a hybrid, with a solid state portion in addition to a spinning disk in order to improve access speeds. On Paper it´s alot faster. However Real-world tests show that there is almost no difference between these two.

Overall Games on the PS4 have considerably more graphics power and RAM Bandwidth available, and that shows up in real-world comparisons. Games on PS4 are usually a bit smoother and more attractive.

WINNER: PS4

4.Exclusives

Now people might argue that this point isn't factual and therefor shouldn't be on this List. However i will use Metacritic to see how many Exclusives there are on both sides, and how good they did in terms of Critics and Fanbase Votes. Im only using RETAIL Games as comparison. Since looking at every single Exclusive would be taking way to long, (atleast on PS4´s side) im gonna use the 5 most known Exclusives/Exclusive Series on both sides. By pure Exclusive Count, PS4 Wins with having 78 RETAIL Exklusives, and XBOX ONE only having 6. In terms of the 5 most known Exclusives for XBOX, i found it hard to find the "5 most known" since XBOX ONE only has 2 "known" Exclusives that are made purely for the XBOX ONE (which means that Games like Gears of War will NOT be on this list). 1. The Halo Series 2. The Forza Series. As representative i will take the latest releases of these Series. If we look at Metacritic, 1. Halo 5 Guardians has a Metascore of 84 and a User score of 6.4. 2. Forza Motorsport 5 has a Metascore of 79 and a User score of 6.0. In terms of the 5 most known Exklusives for PS4, i found it hard to keep it down to only 5, since there is a huge amount of great Exclusives for PS4. I took the 5 Exclusives of what i would say are the most known for the average Gamer. 1. The Uncharted Series. 2. God of War 3. Horizon Zero Dawn 4. Bloodborne 5. Marvel’s Spider-Man. As representative i will take the latest releases of these Serieses (if there is a Series) 1. God of war has a Metascore of 94 and a User score of 9.1 2. Bloodborne has a Metacritics score of 93 and a User score of 8.9 3. Uncharted 4 has a Metascore of 93 and a User score of 8.4 4.Horizon Zero Dawn has a Metascore of 89 and a User score of 8.4 5. Marvels Spider Man has a Metascore of 87 and a User score of 8.6. Not only does PS4 have a bunch more of Exklusives, even the most known PS4 Exklusives did a lot better by Metascore and User score in comparison to XBOX ONE´s most known Exklusives. Even adding Gears of War 4 wouldn´t change that. Overall PS4 Exclusives are better rated by Critics and more attractive to the average User.

WINNER: PS4

5.Backwards Compatibility

PS4 completly fails here since it doesn´t have any backwards Compatibility. It does have Playstation Now, but more about that in the next Point. XBOX ONE has more than 400 Xbox 360 games that are currently playable on XBOX ONE. XBOX ONE easily takes the Crown here.

WINNER: XBOX ONE

6.Services

Both Consoles own their own Game Service. Playstation Now and XBOX Game Pass is what they are called. PS4´s PlayStation Now allows you to stream hundreds of last-gen titles (and a few PS4 games) from the cloud for $20/£12.99 a month. As of Sept. 2018, you can also download PS2 and PS4 titles from the service directly. Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass grants access to over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games that you can download for $10 (£7/AU$10) a month.

These are both great Services.

WINNER: TIE

7.Controller

The DualShock 4 feels like more of a change. It´s a full redesign of the DS3. Microsoft has stuck with what worked so well in the Xbox 360 controller, and as such the XBOX ONE Controller is more of a tweak than a full redesign in comparison to the DS4.

Both Controllers are great. However, the DS4 Controller has build in Batteries which can easily be charged. The XBOX ONE Controller still requires a pair of AA batteries as standard. However you can buy the Play and Charge kit separately for the XBOX ONE Controller.

Both Controllers feel great and are a good Quality Product. I don´t think that XBOX ONE using AA Batteries is that bad. If you always have enough Batteries in your House, changing them out for 20 second and being able to play the full time again is great, in comparision you are stuck with a Charging Cable with the DS4 and can´t use Bluetooth if the Batteries are empty. it seems like some People rather have the AA Method, and some the charging method. So to summon this up, no Controller is really better then another, it´s pure taste.

WINNER: TIE

8.Operation System/OS

It´s alot easier to get used to the PS4 OS since it´s really easy to understand and Navigate through. The XBOX ONE´s OS on the other hand has alot of stuff including unessecary things on the Frontpage. There is also extra TV Features and such, making the XBOX ONE less of a "Pure Gaming Console". This is pure taste again, however it´s easier to understand and navigate through the PS4´s OS for new Users.

WINNER: PS4

9.Extra Features

PS4 and XBOX ONE both have similiar motion Cameras. XBOX ONE has Kinect and PS4 has Playstation Eye. Though both are complete shit. PS4 has Playstation VR. XBOX ONE currently doesn´t have VR. You can watch TV on XBOX ONE which you can´t on PS4. Howver PS4 is meant to be a pure Gaming Console, not like XBOX ONE. And there won´t be many people watching TV on XBOX ONE. So i don´t think this Feature is that great.

Overall PS4 wins this Point because of VR actually being a good Feature with some great Games already.

WINNER: PS4

10.Results

PS4: 5 Points

XBOX ONE: 1 Point

TIE: 4 Points (LUL)

To summon this up, the PS4 is factually the better Console for pure Gamers.

Experiences and opinions by myself:

I personally have a XBOX ONE, a PS4 and a PC. I don´t think that this War is any good, and it´s completly unessecary. I think that all Gamers should stay together, If PC, XBOX, Switch, we are all Gamers afterall. We should rather go against Crossplay ban´s by Microsoft, Sony and Companys like Epic Games. Both Consoles are valid options, and i think the only reason to get a specific Console, is because your Friends use it too/already.

Competitive Xbox Settings

Hi all, firstly any advice at all is appreciated.

I am an older gamer, playing fornite(don't hate me) competitively. I have no desire of playing in the world cup but I am close enough to the level to qualify.

I am looking for optimal settings to run the game as smooth as possible. For anyone who hasn't played, basically the competitive side consists of a lot of people alive as the map gets smaller and more builds in game causing fps to drop from 50-60 to 10-20 which is unplayable and a huge disadvantage.

I have googled and read forums/posts about optimal settings as much as I can stand, ads and videos about quality rather than performance is mostly what is available. Id rather have bare minimum graphic settings and a smoother gameplay experience.

Here are my settings;

Monitor - Samsung 24" LS24D330HSX Game mode turned on Response time - fastest HDMI Black Level - Normal (should it be set to low?)

Xbox one S Video output on console, 720p(read 720 will allow better frames end game than 1080), 60hz Video modes settings - Allow 50Hz ticked, Allow YCC 4:2:2 ticked Video fidelity & overscan - HDMI, colour depth 24bits per pixel(8-bit), colour space standard

Internet - 150mb down and 150mb up, soon to be 500+ down

Also have capture settings turned off as I watched a video relating to this and slowing down console performance.

Thanks for reading

Samsung 24" LS24D330HSX - Settings advice

Hi all, firstly any advice at all is appreciated. I am an older gamer, playing fornite(don't hate me) competitively.

Id rather have bare minimum graphic settings and a smoother gameplay experience.

Here are my settings; Monitor - Samsung 24" LS24D330HSX Game mode turned on (does this prioritise the gameplay or graphics, limited information online) Response time - fastest HDMI Black Level - Normal (should it be set to low?)

Xbox one optimal settings for end game

Obviously we all know the rants about shadows etc

With our current situation, any recommendations on how to optimise end game? As a competitive player by nature I can't face pubs so I am stuck with champ solos anytime I want to play and late game is unbearable.

I have googled and read forums/posts about optimal settings as much as I can stand, ads and videos about quality rather than performance is mostly what is available. Id rather have bare minimum graphic settings and a smoother gameplay experience.

Any tech savy advice much appreciated!

Edit : To give you an example, from even the first zone, if i build I can literally see the pieces of each wall, floor, ramp etc coming together to build the structure, its almost slow motion at times. If I make it to 4th or moving zones I can't edit or replace, if I edit and go for a pump or spray the delay from the edit to weapon is that long I have a major disadvantage. Cant do damage on rotation because I can barely build to protect myself. My only chance of placement consistency is to get a good baller drop or have double rift or launchpads. Even with launchpads it takes that long to place endgame you can get bopped.

Thanks to anyone who read all of this, not looking to complain just for some advice for all console players trying to compete. I have no interested in buying or building a PC purely for fortnite, World cup is not on my agenda.
