As I'm sure most of you know already, v/rb3's story is partially a loose retelling of the history of the game industry from around the late 80's to what at the time was present day. Part of this was straight up giving you several processor units throughout the story, each of which is based on a real-life game console, and making rebirth 3 have by far the most processor units of any neptunia game. This is a complete list of all the processor units gained through the story for Plutia, Noire, Blanc, Vert, and Peashy, and the consoles they're based on, complete with pictures of both the processor unit and the console its based on for comparison. There are some I'm still not sure on, so if you think you have the answer, please tell me and provide a pic of the console in question.
Plutia: Her processor units are all based on Sega consoles, from the Mega Drive up through the Dreamcast. She stops receiving free processor units much earlier than the others, likely due to the Sega calling it quits in the console making industry early on in the 6th generation, though this also means for a while she'll be getting much better stat boosts from HDD than the other goddesses.
Omegadrive: This one's pretty obvious. As the name implies, it's based on the Sega Mega Drive, known as the Genesis in America, specifically the original Japanese model (you'll find most of the processor units are based on the original model of the console in question in this game). Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/2/2b/Omegadrive_Processor_Plutia_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160713214010 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a1/Sega-Mega-Drive-JP-Mk1-Console-Set.jpg
S3-2X: Despite the name and description implying it's based on the 32X add-on for the Mega Drive, it doesn't much resemble the 32X at all, with the 32X being black in color while this processor is primarily gray and blue. Instead, I believe it is based on the Sega Saturn, specifically the original Japanese model, which likewise had a gray and blue color scheme. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/a/a6/S3-2X_Processor_Plutia_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160713215004 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/95/Sega-Saturn-JP-Mk1-Console-Set.jpg
STV-00: This one had me stumped for a while, because I couldn't find a single Sega console that resembled it enough for me to decide it was based on it. However, re-reading the description made it clear to me that it's based on the Sega Pluto, a planned variant of the Sega Saturn with a built in NetLink modem that was never released. While the console did end up having two prototypes made, so we do know what it looks like, this processor doesn't resemble it at all, however because said prototype only surfaced online after the original Victory had already been released, it's unlikely the game's developers actually knew what the Pluto looked like, so they probably just used their imaginations in designing this processor. Because this processor doesn't actually base its appearance on the console it's based on, I won't be providing a console pic. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/5/5a/STV-00_Processor_Plutia_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160714024029
White Cast: This one is obviously based on the Dreamcast, Sega's final console, with its description even referencing the current opinion held by many regarding the console, which sadly flopped despite having very impressive specs for its time. (In fact, a rather fun fact about the sixth gen is that despite being the best-selling console of the generation by far, the PS2 actually had the worst specs of the 4 major consoles that gen) The processor is specifically designed after the original Japanese and North American model of the console, which was white with an orange swirl logo. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/e/ef/White_Cast_Processor_Plutia_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160714032055 Console: https://segaretro.org/images/4/48/Dreamcast_JP.jpg
Noire: Her processors are of course based on Sony's Playstation series of consoles, from the original PS up through the at the time unreleased PS4.
Stone Gray: This one is of course based on the original Playstation, which is a bit of an odd duck in that unlike its successors which are primarily black, the original was gray in color. Like most processors in the game, it uses the original model of the console as the basis for its design. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/a/a4/Stone_Gray_Processor_Noire_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160706014849 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9e/PlayStation-SCPH-1000-with-Controller.png
Night Blue: This one is of course based on the PS2, the first of many Sony consoles to be primarily black in color. It seems to be specifically designed after the original "fat" model, which was black with a blue logo and blue casing around the HDMI ports, hence the black and blue color scheme of this processor unit. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/4/4f/Night_Blue_Processor_Noire_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160706015945 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/02/PS2-Fat-Console-Set.jpg/800px-PS2-Fat-Console-Set.jpg
DX Silver: This one is a bit of an odd-one out among Noire's processors, in that its based on a color variant of a console, with it specifically seeming to be based on the silver color variant of the PS2 slim v15. Why the developers thought it notable enough to give its own processor unit is beyond me, and this processor seems to mainly exist just to pad Noire's processor count. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/2/2e/DX_Silver_Processor_Noire_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160706023635 Console: http://www.flashbackgames.co.uk/ShopResources/2750/Thumbs/IMG_7189.jpg
Piano Black: As I'm sure you've figured, this processor is based on the Playstation 3, with it specifically using the original model as the basis for its design, with said model's color scheme even being officially called "Piano Black" by Sony, hence the name of this processor unit. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/9/9b/Piano_Black_Processor_Noire_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160706024745 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/90/Sony-PlayStation-3-CECHA01-wController-L.jpg/1920px-Sony-PlayStation-3-CECHA01-wController-L.jpg
Orbital: This processor unit is based on the at the time unreleased Playstation 4, with its name coming from the PS4's development codename of Orbis. It's likely the developers used their imagination when designing this processor, as it's unlikely they knew what the PS4 looked like at the time since it was still unrevealed, hence why it doesn't resemble the PS4 all that much. Like with STV-00, because it doesn't actually use the console it's based on as the basis for its design, I won't bother posting a pic of the console. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/3/34/Orbital_Processor_Noire_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160706025711
Blanc: Blanc's processors are of course based on Nintendo's various home consoles, going as far back as the original Famicom. Oddly enough, unlike Vert and Noire, she doesn't get a processor based on her company's eighth gen console, so her processors only go up through the Wii. I'm assuming the Wii U was left out because Blanc already had a lot of processors, given how long Nintendo's been in the console industry.
Base White: Based on the Famicom, or the NES as its known in the west, this processor specifically uses the original Japanese model as the basis for its design. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/0/0d/Base_White_Processor_Blanc_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160707232306 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/06/Nintendo-Famicom-Console-Set-FL.jpg/1920px-Nintendo-Famicom-Console-Set-FL.jpg
Super BW: This one is of course based on the Super Famicom, known as the SNES internationally. Most players probably won't end up using this unit because it comes at the same time as the superior NTD-64 one. I know I didn't. It uses the more colorful Japan and PAL model as the basis for its design, rather than the grey and purple US one. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/c/ca/Super_BW_Processor_Blanc_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160707235200 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/Nintendo-Super-Famicom-Set-FL.jpg/1920px-Nintendo-Super-Famicom-Set-FL.jpg
NTD-64: Even western players should easily recognize this as based on the Nintendo 64, which unlike Nintendo's previous consoles looked pretty much the same in all regions. It specifically uses the original charcoal gray color variant of the console, and the waist segments are clearly based on the system's (in)famous M shaped controller. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/e/e5/NTD-64_Processor_Blanc_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160708023910 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e9/Nintendo-64-wController-L.jpg/1920px-Nintendo-64-wController-L.jpg
G-Cube: This one is clearly based on the GameCube, which like the N64 look pretty much the same in all regions. It even has little mini GameCubes on the shoulders! Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/f/fb/G-Cube_Processor_Blanc_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160708025320 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d1/GameCube-Set.jpg/1920px-GameCube-Set.jpg
W11: This one is of course based on the Wii, specifically the original model. Blanc's final story processor. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/8/85/W11_Processor_Blanc_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160708030337 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/14/Wii-console.jpg/800px-Wii-console.jpg
Vert: Hers are all based on consoles from Microsoft's XBox series, from the original through the at the time unreleased XBox One.
Build-X: Based on the original Xbox. Processor: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/14/Wii-console.jpg/800px-Wii-console.jpg Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/43/Xbox-console.jpg/1920px-Xbox-console.jpg
X-Round: Based on the original white model Xbox 360, with the round in this processor name clearly referring to the 360 in the console's name, with 360 being the number of degrees in a circle. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/2/2f/X-Round_Processor_Vert_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160709013935 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/40/Xbox-360-Pro-wController.jpg/800px-Xbox-360-Pro-wController.jpg
Round Next: Seems to be based on the Xbox 360's S model, which released in 2010 and returned to the black and green color scheme of the original Xbox, along with the famous Kinect peripheral released later that same year. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/9/9a/Round_Next_Processor_Vert_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160709015134 Console: http://image.11st.my/g3/2/1/2/9/9/5/16212995_B_V1.jpeg
Double Round: This is yet another console the developer's had to use their imagination designing, being based on the at the time unreleased and unrevealed Xbox One. The name seems to reference the common nickname for the console at the time, "Xbox 720". Like with STV-00 and Orbital, no console pic for this one. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/3/3a/Double_Round_Processor_Vert_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160709020257
Peashy: Last but not least, we have Peashy. Her processors are based on Hudson and NEC's brief "PC" series of consoles, and the ones I'm having the most trouble ascertaining the basis for, or at least her middle two ones.
Base Core: Based on the PC-Engine, known as the TurboGrafx-16 outside of Japan and France, a fourth gen console that was rather popular in Japan but not so elsewhere. The design seems to be based on the original Japanese PC-Engine. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/e/ed/Base_Core_Processor_Peashy_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160714230155 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b6/PC-Engine-Console-Set.jpg/1920px-PC-Engine-Console-Set.jpg
Turbo Core: Not entirely sure what this is based on yet. As such, no console pic for this one until I figure out what it's actually based on. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/f/f6/Turbo_Core_Processor_Peashy_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160715005756
Graph Core: I THINK this might be based on the Turbo Duo/PC Engine Duo, specifically the original Japanese version, but I'm not certain yet, so I'll hold off on a console pic for now. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/6/62/Graph_Core_Processor_Peashy_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160715011136
PCF-00X: Based on the PC-FX, a Japan only console that infamously was unable to render polygonal-3D graphics, and since it was released in the fifth gen, the gen where polygonal 3D became the standard for 3D graphics, it lacked third party support and sold incredibly poorly, ending NEC and Hudson's brief stint in the console market. Processor: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/neptunia/images/c/c1/PCF-00X_Processor_Peashy_Re%3BBirth3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160715012810 Console: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6e/NEC-PC-FX-wController-R.jpg/1024px-NEC-PC-FX-wController-R.jpg
And there we have it. Any help ascertaining the origin of Pea's Graph and Turbo core processors would be much appreciated.
