New to Alexa (Christmas present) - Can she control my Smart TV/AV Receiver? What's the point of connecting her to those via Bluetooth?

I'm thinking yes she should be able to, but I'm not able to find a lot of information right now. It could be I'm googling the wrong stuff.

I have a Sony XBR-65X750D TV. It's smart, supports Blue tooth, etc.

I also have a Denon AVR-S720W. It's apparently smart as well.

What I'd like to do is be able to use Alexa to turn the tv on, maybe load up Netflix, or Plex. Hell, if I could even get it to turn on the Xbox One it'd be great.

Or even to play music through the receiver instead of (or in addition to) her speaker.

Where do I start looking for these types of things?

I also noticed that she's able to connect to each of those devices via Bluetooth - what benefit is there for doing that?
