Will DOOM 16 multiplayer survive on Switch?

So assuming the multiplayer has no issues beyond 720p 30fps being a problem for some, im curious if anyone thinks this game will last on Switch.

If we look back at the original launch for Xbox/PS4/PC we can all remember the bad word of mouth the multiplayer "beta" received. This made enthusiasm at launch pretty weak, though complaints about the beta all around had been pretty valid.

Then came the season pass....

So when the game launched, it had cheaters on PC pretty quickly and this has never been fixed so at this point I declare PC dead at launch.

Now for Xbox and PS4, the game actually had a pretty decent community for awhile. Progression was a problem. You instantly become showered armor rewards straight off the bat. None of this armor had any bragging rights and you got too much of it too quickly. Then there was no leaderboards... To top it off, no custom games... This I feel was a huge blow to the longevity of the game.

The next problem is one nobody likes to admit, especially from the "Its mediocre camp", the massive bulk of users sucked. Big time. This game was and is far harder then any console shooter. The skill gap was huge, which is something I liked about it.

So an arena shooter on console with no progression, leaderboards, or custom games. Yea, its easy to see how this got lost in a sea of aim down sight shooters. Unfortunate, but maybe next time id will handle the MP themselves.

So what could be different on Switch?

Well initial impressions wont be quite so sour, we know the DLC is launching with the Switch so the progression system and custom games will still be there. Bots too. Still no leaderboards : (

This is going to be the only FPS on Switch for awhile, and what FPS is going to come around that is as polished?

Until sometime in 2018, the Switch has free online.

If we look back over to PS4/Xbox, a lot of people seem to be into version 6.66 which we can assume is the version Switch will launch with. As far as I can tell on PS4, it actually gave the community some new life I did not really expect it to. I also gotta say total kudos to them for supporting this game when the numbers dropped off by such a large margin. The patch history for this game has been stellar and so has the support. Which is another reason I hope that the Switch can offer this game some sort of redemption.

So Switch is launching with version 6.66, all DLC, custom games, FFA, bots. Just a massive amount of stuff the PS4/Xbox did not have at launch. So what is going to hold the Switch back?

32 gigs of internal storage on Switch and this game has a 9 gig mandatory download to play online. This could be a huge blow, sure the Switch has cheap storage expansion options but what % of the userbase has expanded? It could prove to be an issue especially for people not digging it off the bat. I think its fair to say 9 gigs of mandatory space is a lot of baggage on this system. One that apparently could not have been avoided.

$60 launch price tag... This speaks for itself, how many copies of this game will even be sold?

Handheld mode controls. While a lot of users online will all be playing in handheld mode, it certainly has to be the worst way to play this game. Docked players with Ethernet adapters and pro controllers are going to totally destroy these guys if they have any experience with FPS, especially if they have played DOOM before.
