[Tech] How can i output my One X to 4k tv and still stream @ 720p using my Elgato HD60?

First off let me thank anyone who attempts to help in any way.

So i have pre-ordered myself a shiney new Xbox One X and am excited to see what its capable of. But this will lead me to an issue when streaming.

I currently stream to Mixer via an Elgato HD60 which takes its signal in @1080p and via OBS is downscaled to 720p (Im not partnered so i set it to 720p to ensure that hopefully most people can view my stream)

Im looking to purchase a 4k tv and obviously i want to get the best visuals from the 4k tv in front of me.

This leads me to my problem. How do i keep an output to the 4k tv at 4k, but have only 1080p go to the elgato? As the elgato wont except a 4k input.

I have read about the possibility of purchasing a 4k splitter (1 in 2 out) so one signal goes to the tv and one to the elgato. But i have also read that the splitters will only output one resolution to both sources, and that this is generally the lowest resolution (being 1080p for the Elgato). either way i am either going to end up with a 1080p output to my 4k tv or a nice looking tv at 4k but an Elgato that will display nothing.

So any and all help on this matter would be greatly appreciated...

TL;DR: How do i get my (soon to be new) One X to ouput 4k to my TV but only 1080p to an Elgato HD60?
