Am I overthinking my Android TV box decision?(Do I really only need an Amazon FireTV?)

The Amazon FireTV($89.99) all my requirements, but what worries me is the 100Mb LAN on the FireTV. I hate relying on Wifi no matter what band. Was thinking about the Zidoo X9s ($123.99)or maybe even the HiMedia Q5 Pro($126.99). Am I just paying for overkill I don’t need? It's almost as if the AZFTV is just too easy to use and isn't "cool" enough.

I’ve rooted and ROMmed every one of my phones so I don’t mind a bit of tinkering to get things working as long as it’s not too crazy. I've been reading a lot of reviews the non-big company boxes seem to get a bad wrap.

Main usage

  • Streaming TV service and OTA TV
  • Streaming 720P or better MKVs from a NAS via ethernet
  • Don’t have any 4k content or TV, but would like relatively future proof so I don’t have to get another device for a while

Must haves:

  • Gigabit Lan
  • AC wifi
  • able to sideload apps(Plex and a couple others)
  • Don’t’ care about gaming, Netflix, or hi end movie video/audio as I have my PC and Xbox One for that
  • Kodi isn’t a priority, but using it is a possibility
  • Don’t’ care about 3d
