Worth it if I have it on console?

Ok, I've been wanting to pick up Rust for a bit now, but the ARK Steam price now is practically irresistible, and ARK is practically Rust for stronger PCs with way more content. I can get it with Scorched Earth for about $14, less than the expansion itself. Here's the thing, I really like this game, but it's a lag fest on Xbox. I know it's unoptimized, but my PC will run it way better. I don't have Scorched Earth on Xbox either, just the base game, so I might as well buy it with the game here on PC. Here's the thing, I can't play with my brother on PC, he uses the intel HD family PC, which can only run ARK at like 12 FPS on literal minimum settings, 720p. So would I be better off using my money to buy Scorched Earth on Xbox to play with my brother, or keeping one copy for Xbox to play with him and buying another on PC to play solo? One more thing, the Xbox is in his room, the PC (it's a laptop but it has a 1060 so don't worry) is mostly in mine. So I can play more places that way.

PS, I'm aware of the Alpha Tribe issue and prepared for what I'll experience should I try multiplayer.
