Edit: I totally fucked up the title. Country - US, Budget - very loose $600ish, Screen Size - 15.6 or larger.
- Total budget and country of purchase:
Budget - under $600 if possible, but please don't hesitate to suggest something more expensive, I need to know what something like this will cost.
Country - US
- Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.
Best Specs for money is number one. 2 in 1 and especially good battery life would be nice, but is not necessary.
- How important is weight and thinness to you?
Weight is not, thinness would be nice. I just want it to look good no matter the dimensions. I currently own an HP ENVY Sleekbook and love the looks.
- Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.
Windows 10
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
At least 15.6
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
Video (Vegas Pro) and Photo Editing (GIMP) (though my current computer can do that), and gaming through Steam (My current computer cannot do that).
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
EuroTruck and American Truck Simulator, SpinTires, My Summer Car, and possibly other games like those. I would like to run all of them at at least 720p 30+FPS on medium-high settings. Just being able to play BeamNG.drive, GTA V, Forza Motorsport Apex, and FH3 would be nice too.
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
In no particular order:
-Good keyboard would be nice, but not mandatory. (I like the one on my HP ENVY Sleekbook, the keys feel stiffer and less mushy than other laptop keyboards I've used).
-Touchscreen is a must.
-Plugs should be on the sides of the computer, not the back.
-At least 3 USB Ports would be nice, but isn't mandatory.
-Reliability seems like a given, my HP has uncharacteristically been indestructible.
-I need a numpad.
-A seperate row for the f keys would be nice, but isn't necessary.
-HDMI Port, obviously.
-Support for two extra monitors rather than just one (like my HP) would be nice, but isn't a must.
-At least 750GB HDD, but 1TB or more would be optimal.
-Back-lit keyboard, preferably in blue or white, though it doesn't matter.
-No fucking "nipple" ruining the looks of my keyboard.
-A disk drive is unnecessary.
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I am tired of not being able to play games at all on my current laptop. It seems to have gotten worse lately, to the point where they won't even run. I am just looking for the cheapest, goodish looking laptop that I can play non-xbox games with. It'd be nice to have a "sleeper" laptop that looks like my HP or something rather than a gaming laptop, though that is entirely unimportant. Overall, what is the cheapest I can get into a laptop with the specs I need? I hope I haven't forgotten anything, and thanks a million to anyone who responds!
My current laptop specs for those who might be interested in the shitty-ish-ness:
Model: HP ENVY TS m6 Sleekbook (I love the looks)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8GB RAM
Video Memory: Intel HD [shared] Graphics Family (Shared 2GB with RAM, this is the main offender)
Display: 15.6" 720p
