What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
My original intent for this build was current gen gaming, to not only replace my then outdated Xbox 360, but for me to avoid the tropes that the Xbone had held with Microsoft's inconsistent changes and invalid reasonings. Beyond that, I was sick of having a shoddy half busted laptop splaying an HDMI cable across the room. So, high time for an upgrade!
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
I wanted the best I could get out of a £500 budget at that time. Screen resolution had to be 720p due to my TV at the time sporting that res, but given that the RX480 had come out near that time, I was determined to purchase a current gen build, as opposed to my brother's now partially outdated £1000 PC which runs an R9 270X.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
My original budget for the build was around the £500 mark, As I wanted something cost effective, somewhat powerful and suited to my gaming needs; That was in September. Now it's June, I've added an extra £200 to the budget, and added a few extra goodies, that's not including the amount i've spent on steam games.
My favourite part about this project is the budget was hit fairly well. How many people can say that won 16gb RAM for 30 quid in a NANOSECOND win on ebay?
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Purely UK based purchases.
Any Particular Theme? Originally, I wanted to go for a pure black and red design, but then my obsession with the genre of Synthwave music had grown exponentially during my build process, and so stickers and multitudes of the color purple were used to great effect.
