Just bought a Lenovo Yoga 720 15 4k 16GB AMA

I'm not the same guy that made the original 720 AMA thread a month ago but considering I just got one myself I figured I'd do another one so people could have a different perspective.

I will say that I am coming from a 2013 13in MacBook Air so my opinion may be skewered a bit as pretty much anything nowadays will be better than that.

Picked it from Best Buy today, got the $1400 model with a 4k display, i7c 16gb RAM, 512gb SSD, and a GTX 1050 2gb. I've been looking into getting a new laptop for a while and it was either between this or the Dell XPS 15. I took the gamble with the yoga cause of its ability to be used as a tablet for taking notes while also still having XPS levels of performance.

So far I'm satisfied with it, no bloat ware whatsoever aside from the basic Lenovo utility apps which I've actually found very useful so far.

The display is great; crisp, vibrant colors, good brightness, should be great for photo editing in Lightroom.

Speakers aren't all that bad really, they're a little shallow and a little flat but they sound alright, I'll mess around with the Dolby settings and see if I can improve them.

The trackpad is ok, it's glass and feels good but it is a little floaty despite the precision drivers - this seems like something that could be fixed via an driver update.

The keyboard is fantastic, much more travel than my Air and good spacing/sized keys. Although Only two brightness settings for the backlighting which is a little lame.

Gaming performance is great so far, and this is why I'm really here. The first and only game I've tried is Dirt Showdown and let me tell you it runs like a dream. I decided to push the resolution all the way up to 4k and the settings up to high for shits and giggles, and wow, I ran the benchmark test and managed to get just under 60fps. However the laptop did get very warm but not to the point where it would be totally uncomfortable sitting in your lap.

I haven't tested the battery life yet as I've had the laptop plugged in since I unboxed it, I can hopefully test that tomorrow.

I also cannot attest to the pen performance as they're not available in stores and have to be purchased online.

The fans are actually a little loud but not terrible, when I was playing dirt Showdown at 4k they got pretty loud but really not much louder than say an Xbox. In short, it didn't feel like it was about to take off and fly away.

If you'd like me to test a specific game let me know and I'll see if it's in my library. I do have GTA V, DOOM 2016, Dirt 3, Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, NFS Most Wanted, Beam NG, Far Cry 3, Superhot, Wolfenstein, and like 60 more.
