Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications to your requirements for the money? Pick or include any that apply. I do not want a 2 in 1 laptop. I want a standalone laptop.
-
How important is weight to you? Not so important but I don't want something uber heavy.
-
Which OS do you require? Windows, Linux, Mac. Windows 10
-
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15in, 1080p
-
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. If you have no requirements, put N/A. Streaming games from my Xbox One to Beam.pro. 90% streaming from Xbox 10% or lower in regard to actually playing games on the laptop.
-
If you're gaming (leave blank if you put N/A above...), do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? At the time all of my games are on my Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. I think I would play the truck driving simulator on the laptop however my focus is XB1 and Nintendo Switch streaming. I would potentially play a game or two on the laptop at some time. I would expect 60 FPS at the minimum with high graphic quality settings.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable business grade build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Nothing additional, basic keyboard and touchpad. Backlit keyboard would be nice.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I hope this post is ok. I hope someone can provide some insight for my needs in regard to a laptop. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I am looking at a new laptop for streaming. I stream 90% of the time from my Xbox One. The purpose for the laptop is for encoding the video from the Xbox and hosting it on Beam. I use an Elgato HD 60 Pro for capture. I won't be playing the actual game on the laptop.. I understand the pros/cons when using a laptop versus a desktop. I don't have the setup at home to support a desktop streaming PC to support my Xbox gaming room/center. Now that is out of the way :) I am looking at this Dell:
Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming, i7-7700HQ (6MB Cache, up to 3.8 GHz), GTX 1050Ti 4GB GDDR5, 16GB 2400MHz DDR4
The CPU and graphics card seem up to spec for streaming 720p/30fps when comparing it to minimum/best specs for a desktop. Looking for validation or recommendations for other laptops/manufacturers. My budget is around 900-1200. I have checked Asus ROG and MSi and they are quite expensive for what I think I need. Dell's price point for the hardware is quite good in my opinion. Thank you for any input.
The reason I want to get a new laptop is the laptop I am running now is severely under powered and my CPU is running in the upper 80s and lower 90s when streaming. My goal is to achieve a smooth and quality video stream.
