Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
FPS online shooters, watching youtube, Kodi media centre, will be usin for schoolwork, we use Apache Open Office, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Music and video files are stored on external USB HDDs.
Currently he games on an xbox one, so no games to transfer in, he is planning on getting games via Steam or similar
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
1440 will really be a max, at the moment we are happy with 720 res gaming, but obviously would like to see an improvement, and dont want something that is going to end up being lower specced than the Project Scorpio. fps rates? I genuinely dont see any reason for tryng to go over 60fps, running smooothly at 30 fps, in 1080 with no frame rate issues, I'd be happy with that for now, and also ,i think these fairly modest requirements will be achievable over time, with new games as they appear. I dont really want to have something that will run games now but in 12 months time be struggling and chugging along like a clapped out transit van.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
Original budget is £750, but having spent a few days looking through various set ups, we can stretch this a little bit further. If anyone is prepared to give me a few suggestions, PLEASE, bear in mind the current build really is the absolute MAX we can spend on it.
It would be good if people could suggest ways we could save a few quid to be honest , rather than upgrades.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
