PS4 Render games at 1080p (19201080=2073600).. Lets take this number as a base for comparison: we know the PS4 has around 1.8TF of power, so to port the exact same title to a 900p console you need 1.3TF (XONE.. 1600900=1440000 ... 2073600/1440000=1,44... 1,8TF/1,44=1.3TF). Now.. lets say the Switch aims to port the same games at 720p Docked and 540p Undocked (1280*720=921600...2073600/921600=2,25... 1,8TF/2,25=0.8TF). So the Switch needs around 800GF to render the exact same games and fps at 720p, and take into account that the port can also cap fps or lower graphical fidelity if needed. Now.. when undocked to run the game at 540p (or at half the fps still in 720p) it needs only around 400GF. If the rumoured clock speeds are true this is possible with 4SM (760GF/320GF). 540p can even output at 1080i if needed

Anther thing.. take into account that there are a lot of games that runs 1080 60fps on ps4 and also runs 1080 60fps xone.. meaning those games dont use all the PS4 1,8TF power. In those situations it would be at max topping 1080p at 1.3TF, meaning the switch would need only ~600GF to run those games at 720p60 (~300GF 720p30). Fallout 4 is a example of a game that runs 1080p30 on XOne, it would play 720p30 with ~600GF. The games that run 720p60 on Xone like Battlefield 4 also needs around 600GF to run 720p30 on Switch, all needing around 300GF on 540p mode. So on these cases even 3SM can get the job done (580GF/240GF). If the Switch can reach this mark yes it can run all those ported games, docked and undocked! It would have to make some sacrifices on portable mode and it wouldnt be the same experience as true 1080p vs ps4 and xone, but the game would be playable and enjoyable
TLDR: The Switch only need around 320GFlops of performance undocked to be competitive and a good choice over a ps4 or xone to play AAA titles given it can be used on the go. These specs are possible with the rumoured clocks as long as it has the full 4SM; it could also make it do with 3SM albeit with compromises. It could also be based on a 16nm pascal with 386 cuda cores instead of the 20nm/256 and reach those Flops with less SM
