Hey there, that's going to be a quite expanded text on my current situation. Beginning of the year I got myself an Elgato Game Capture HD which makes decent recordings. but it's just extremely buggy and unbearably annoying. Not to mention it has the blackscreen issue which won't let me record PS1 games on PS2. I know it has something to do with resolution switching.
I've got sick of the Elgato and ordered the Avermedia LGP last which arrived yesterday. Now, this card runs very fine without any bugs but has a huge problem with recording fps on PS2. With further testing using GS Mode Selector I realized that the capcard apparently has won't record games smoothly which run at a certain resolution (480i I think). It records quite smoothly in 480p, 720p and 1080p but I get issues on TV due to GS. Also the sound is distorted when recording in OBS. I tried everything out that I could to get it running properly. It's not like the recordings are unwatchable, but they're just unpleasant to look at. The Elgato sucked but didn't have that problem. Also the PS1 black screen issue appears on the LGP as well.
I really don't know about any other capture card than the Hauppauge HD PVR 2 perhaps? Any help would be appreciated. Either recommending capcards or something else, thanks. Btw no PCI cards
