Flawless Widescreen for Mass Effect 1 Cutscenes

I recently bought the Mass Effect Trilogy for PC with the Origin 50% off deal. I originally played through each game on the Xbox 360 but wanted to try a PC playthrough with some mods like MEUITM. I just hadn't been able to convince myself to purchase all that DLC again but I finally broke down and bought them with the 50% off code since that was probably the best deal I was going to get for a really long time.

Anyways, I've got MEUITM installed and working mostly perfectly but I'm also playing on a 21:9 screen using Flawless Widescreen. The target reticles (not for guns) is always to the right of whatever is selected which doesn't seem to have a fix but I was wondering if anyone had any idea how I could get the cinematics (movie files) to play in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Right now, when cinematics like this play, it cuts off the top and bottom to maintain the 21:9 aspect ratio. I would much rather just have the black bars on the sides and not miss any of the cinematics. Does anyone know if this is possible using Flawless Widescreen?

Also, as a side-note... does anyone know if I can get higher def cinematics? The video files for the cinematics in the Mass Effect directory seem to be only in 720p.
