Just a reminder of why IGN is a joke when it comes to PC gaming, and why you shouldn't support them.

Just a reminder of why IGN is a joke when it comes to PC gaming, and why you shouldn't support them.

mostly copy-and-pasted from a reply I wrote to /u/danstapletonTheir community is the most vehemently anti-PC, pro-console community of any gaming community I'm aware of outside of those specifically made for individual consoles, so clearly they are doing something to cater to a certain type of user (i.e., console). The PC section of their website (listed after both consoles) is mainly filled with articles about multiplatform games that just get copy/pasted to the PC section because they don't generate actual PC content. It's actually kind of funny - a lot of the content in the "PC section" isn't even remotely related to PC. Some examples from ign.com/pc right now (again, these are all front page in the PC section):Destiny Story Lawsuit and Pikmin 4 announced. Some great PC news about two games that have never and will never be on PC.Elite: Dangerous Xbox One Release Date Announced. Literally an article solely about the console release date of a game. The only sentence referencing PC in the article is "Elite: Dangerous originally launched on PC in December 2014." Just because a game is on PC doesn't mean console-only news is somehow relevant to PC. Sorry.Master Madden's Salary Cap and Build a Mega Franchise. Again "PC news" about a franchise that literally has not been on PC in almost a decade.Just one, quick glance at their PC section's front page and half its content doesn't even relate to PC at all.Everything I just mentioned, though, is only very recent examples. How about their instructional video on the PC where they literally put thermal paste on the heatsink and wiped it around with a credit card? Maybe excusable for someone totally new to PC, but for a gaming website claiming to be PC enthusiasts? Come on.How about this one about resolution? "The naked eye cannot perceive a difference between 1080p and 720p before 50 inches." What an absolute joke. It's very clear no one at that table has any understanding of PC gaming.Or this one, where they claimed 30 FPS is a "more cinematic experience" than 60 FPS?Then, you know, on top of all that, they have also released two comparison videos just this year where PC was dishonestly portrayed as, graphically, the worst platform, and this time they didn't even own up until the actual devs proved how the PC version really looks.
