Roku image goes haywire when 5.1 content is played

I've got a Roku 2 XS hooked up to a new Denon AVR X5200W receiver which is connected to an Epson 5030UB projector. Audio and HDMI on the Roku set to Auto.

Things are fine playing stereo content, but the second 5.1 content starts playing (I've tried Netflix, Amazon and HBO Go), the image starts shaking badly (though the audio plays fine). The shaking is for the whole Roku player, even after I stop the video. The image shake is severe enough that navigating is difficult, but if I change the Display setting from 1080p to 720p, it goes back to normal.

I don't have trouble with 5.1 audio from other devices -- bluray player, XBox, or cable STB -- it's only the Roku. I replaced the HDMI cable from the Roku to the receiver and there was no difference, so that's ruled out.

Google has been no help in troubleshooting this. Anyone ever have a similar problem or any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks.
