Can a $380 laptop from 2013 beat the Xbox 360?

Everyone on this subreddit knows that a budget gaming desktop can beat PS4 and Xbox One performance, but can a budget laptop beat the PS3 and Xbox 360? Let's find out.

My laptop is a 2013 Asus K55N with the following specifications:

CPU: AMD A8-4500M (quad core 1.9GHz)
iGPU: AMD Radeon HD 7640G (not GCN)
Display: 15.6 inch 1366x768
RAM: 6GB DDR3
Storage: 750GB 5400RPM HDD

I tested a variety of games from the previous generation of consoles by setting graphics settings to be as close as possible to the Xbox 360 and comparing performance. Frame rates were found using Steam's built-in framerate counter and/or FRAPS. Here are the results, with justification given for why a certain platform won:

Laptop Xbox 360 Winner
Burnout Paradise (2008) 720p medium settings 60FPS 720p 60FPS Laptop, slightly better graphics
GTA IV (2008) 720p low settings 25-30FPS 720p 30FPS 360, better graphics
Assassin's Creed II (2009) 720p medium settings 2xMSAA 30FPS 720p 2xAA 30FPS Tie, graphics look identical
Dark Souls with DSFix (2011) 720p 24-30FPS 1024x720 2xAA 30FPS 360, better frame rate
Battlefield 3 (2011) 720p low settings 30FPS 720p 30FPS Tie, graphics look identical
World of Tanks (2012) 720p medium settings 30FPS 720p 30FPS Laptop, better graphics
Titanfall (2014) 720p low settings 40-60FPS 640p 50FPS Tie, Laptop had higher resolution but worse graphics

Unfortunately, I can't do further testing for Titanfall because the beta access version I was using expired over a year ago. Also, my internet speed is really slow so I won't be able to test any more games for the time being.

Screenshots of several of the games that were tested. I can upload more if you're interested.

If we tally up the results, we see from a glance that the two platforms tie. However, note that the Xbox 360 only beat the laptop in GTA IV and Dark Souls, which are some of the worst PC ports from the last console generation.

Therefore, the budget 2013 Asus laptop was at least on par with the Xbox 360 in gaming performance, even though it had integrated graphics. This was a fun experiment to do and it shows that even a budget laptop can still be competitive with gaming consoles.
