3rd time the charm. Passed Network+ today!

First off, thank you to the community for helping with the study materials and guidance.

This is my first CompTIA certification. Decided to skip A+ and go for the Network+.

Wanted to give up after my 2nd attempt and was so discouraged. But as they say, 3rd time is the charm. Passed with a 745, but just glad I was able to get passed 720.

Background: I have a bachelor degree in Computer Science. Worked in software translation, Internationalization/Localization for 19 years. A very small niche area in the software industry. Loss my job and moved to Texas around the Dallas area, end of last year. Decided to change my career path and go into IT. Only IT support experience I have is help troubleshoot family and relative PCs for at least 10 years or so.

Study material: Mike Meyers All-In-One CompTIA Network+ book. So intimidating 800 page book. The material was not too bad, but because it so long. 800 pages, my goodness! Well, only got through about half the book in 6 month and just skimmed through the rest. Was only spending about an hour per day on weekdays only. Used his online practice test and thought it was sufficient to pass the exam. Boy, was I totally Wrong, of course! Went ahead and try my 1st attempt about 5 weeks ago. Got a 566 score, major failure. There goes $300. Totally underestimated the exam. Did not have a clue what this exam was like. So discourage.

Came across Reddit community and found the right study material and resources. Got Udemy Jason Dion online course and practice exams. So I took his practice exams, scoring 54% at first, then 62% - 66% for the rest. As people mentioned here, they are the closest to the real exam. After some study, retaking Dion's practice test, I was getting around 90s to upper 90s. Two weeks later, took my 2nd attempt. Got a 679 failing score. There goes another $300. Was more discouraged and wanted to give up. I don't have a good study habit. Spending about an hour or 2 hours per day on weekdays only. Also, most of the time just wanted to play Resident Evil 2 Remake on my Xbox One. By the way, I got S+ ranked on all 8 scenarios. Unfortunately, I played the game more than I study. Ugh!

Finally decided to go through Dion's online 13-hour course. Had to wait 2 weeks after my 2nd attempt failure, as that is CompTIA policy. Today took the test, my 3rd attempt and passed. So relief!

I would like to get Security+ or CCNA next, but just want to find a job at the moment and provide for the family.

So again, thank you for this community's help and guidance.

The best to everyone!

Should I keep with battle.net hunter or use cross save titan?

I have a around 720 light titan on my Xbox that I’ve played for a long time, so I have lots of old exotics, but I made a hunter on my pc that’s around 715 light, but only exotic I have is young ahamkara’s spine. Wondering which one I should level up before shadowkeep? Really wish I could have my titan on my P.C. and my hunter too

Remember when the Xbox One came out and we thought it was going to be the 720? Well we were somewhat right. Here is a picture from the Real Steel movie which came out in 2011 and it shows Xbox 720 advertisements. So we were correct all Along.

[Sherpa Card][XB1] iFloatz - “Guardians never die. Unless they shoot the wrong eyes.” - Shaxx(?)

Introduction:

Hi, I’m iFloatz, you can call me Floatz or Nick. I have been playing Destiny since the D1 Beta released and raiding since Crota’s Eng dropped. I have cleared every Destiny raid, and took up sherpa-ing back in the King’s Fall days. I’m here to provide a Sherpa experience that gives you a full and complete understanding of any raid you choose to clear with me. My strongest raids are Scourge of the Past and Last Wish, but I am also more than willing to teach Crown of Sorrows and all 3 Leviathan raids.

What I bring to you:

• A learning environment that lends itself to understanding and mastering mechanics, instead of bashing repetition into your mind.

• A complete dedication of my time and knowledge. No matter how little experience you have, or how big the task at hand is, I am here to help you until you feel that you could walk into any LFG raid group with your head held high.

• A professional, yet casual approach. Raids aren’t complete without some bad puns, some funny wipes, a little messing around, and some well placed roasts. That being said, there will be no cursing that is meant with malice, berating, or condescending upon. My goal is to give you a fun learning experience, not take you to D2 boot camp.

• A team. Rather you PM me just for help with your Zero Hour, or you join a Sherpa post of mine, you will never have to worry about finding a team (though your friends are welcome!).

What I expect from you:

• Maturity. I will not place an age-restriction on any of my runs, but I do ask that you come into a raid with the intention of learning and improving. I make jokes through about 99% of raids but you have to know when to get down to business and what you just can’t say to people.

• Time. Some raids run as short as less than an hour, while some can potentially take up to 3 hours circumstantially. I will be focusing on mechanics, and am glad to take as much time as is necessary. A raid with me is not a loot run. It is important for you to have a decent section of time cleared beforehand.

• Patience. Some raids can take upwards of 3 hours while trying to teach people mechanically-intensive encounters, and its normal for patience to run thin or things to get tense at points. I do not tolerate yelling at other players or finger pointing. Both of these will very quickly get you a boot.

• A positive attitude. Always go into a raid with the idea that you’re going to learn some new things, get some good loot, have some laughs, and maybe make a few friends along the way. This is heads above all else the most important part.

Light Level Requirements:

Leviathan (All 3): 500+
Whisper: 600+
Last Wish: 600+
Whisper Heroic: 650+
Zero Hour: 680+
Scourge of the Past: 700+
Zero Hour Heroic: 720+
Crown of Sorrows: 740+

Where you can find me:

You are always free to PM me here at /u/iFloatz Xbox GT: iFloatz Raid Report: https://raid.report/xb/iFloatz

I look forward to raiding with you all! And all I ask of anybody that comes to give feedback on this card is that you be honest. I will accept criticisms and my faults openly, so long as they are fair.
