Hey everyone. I tried using the search function to nail down an answer to my question, but no luck, so here I am.
I’ve recently started streaming from my Xbox on Twitch, and decided that I hate that I can’t have all the fun extras that come with using a PC/OBS, like overlays and alerts at a minimum. Unfortunately, due to my current financial situation and house setup, I’m not in a place to upgrade my setup yet (maybe if we move, possibly, but right now it’s not an option).
I’ve looked at Lightstream Studio and can deal with the fact that I’d be streaming at 720p 30 fps, and I’m okay with paying $8/month to spice up my stream a little while I’m figuring out the PC/setup situation.
I plan to design my own overlays, but the question that I can’t seem to figure out is what resolution the overlays need to be in. Every video on YouTube about designing your own overlays that I’ve seen, everyone is using 1920x1080 for overlays, and I’m assuming they all are streaming using PCs. If I stream in 720 using Lightstream, would 1080 resolution for an overlay downscale accordingly, or would everything look a mess, and I’d have to make the overlays also 1280x720 for it to work? Appreciate the help in advance!
