Could the Wii U do native 1080p with all 2GB of its RAM available?

The other day I found this post talking about how the OG Xbox is capable of getting a 128MB RAM upgrade, twice as much as what came on the base console. This has many cool upsides, one of which being the fact that it can run native 720p patches for most of its library, a 2.25x increase over 480p. Incredibly demanding games like Doom 3 and Morrowind can run at 960 x 720, with similar if not better performance than 640 x 480 on a 64MB model!

That got me wondering. The Wii U has 2GB of RAM. However, 1GB is reserved for the OS functions like Miiverse, TVii, etc. Almost every Wii U was designed around half of the Wii U’s total RAM. The sole exception is Breath of the Wild, which unloads some of the system’s OS to get more memory (the reason why the game pauses for a few seconds when you hit the Home button). Would it be possible for the Homebrew community to shut off most, if not all of the OS and use that 1GB of memory for games? Could the Wii U run most of its games in native 1080p, a similar 2.25x increase over 720p?
