Is Microsoft improving game capturing?

So I'm coming from PS4 to Xbox SS and the console is great. I love the performance improvements, gamepass is awesome, the AA batteries can be replaced with battery packs, but the one thing that I always struggled with was the game capture capabilities for retroactive recording (recording something after it happened). 3 minutes in 720 is far too short Imo and 30 seconds of 1080p...why? If you play games like DayZ or ARMA where you may not know that you wanted to record something until 30-45 min after it happened it just seems antiquated and undercooked, especially for a company that understands the importance of streaming and gameplay videos (ie Mixer).

Microsoft did release a statement about a year ago stating that they were working on improving their game capture capabilities and knew the gameplay recording times were far too short and I would love to see them improve on it! The ability to share all voices in game/party and up to 1 hour of retroactive recording with PS4 really added to the videos you could make, especially for streamers that were starting out or didn't want to buy a capture card and laptop.

My question is if anyone has seen any updates on this? If they're close to improving their game capture capacity? Or if anyone has found any work arounds?

I've attached the article regarding them wanting to improve game capture features:
