Chrome vs Safari on Macbook - Windows - Android -Xcloud

Introduction

I've been using Xcloud for a while. I've tested it on a variety of devices, including a phone, a MacBook, and a Windows laptop. All of these devices support 5G, and my internet connection is fibre optic at 50 Mbps, with a ping of 4 to 5.

Let me first say that I'm from India and that my experiences with Forza Horizon 5 have been generally smooth. Since every game has been optimised differently and because certain older games, like Forza Horizon 4, lag, I am unable to speak for any other games.

Android / Iphone

I don't know why, but Forza Horizon 5 has been running fairly smoothly for me.  I've tested it on an Android device. Using XCloud is incredibly foolish on a display that small.

Because it only supports 720 P, XCloud on any mobile device is ridiculous because all of the games are supposed to be played on larger screens .

Windows

I tested it using four different browsers, including the Xbox app in addition to Firefox, Chrome, and Edge on a Windows laptop. There are significant freezes that occur every minute for 2 to 5 seconds on Edge, Chrome, and Firefox.

One thing to keep in mind is that the broadcast on my Windows laptop was occasionally extremely grainy / blurry.

Macbook

I looked into the best options MacBook and discovered that Microsoft Edge has a picture-clarity feature. I tried it out, but it was quite laggy. It might be a problem with my MacBook Air 2018, I thought.

When I tested it on Chrome, I realised I had forgotten to turn on Hardware Acceleration. The was the smoothest one yet. Regarding the speed of the Chrome browser, it was generally seamless although occasionally there were FPS drops. At first, I thought it might be my router, but after doing more research online, I discovered that the Xbox cloud does not need a lot of bandwidth (15 Mbps) .

Although the keyboard and mouse mapping extension for the Safari browser wasn't readily available, there was source code with instructions for creating one, so I followed them and made an unsigned extension for Safari. To my surprise, the laptop ran considerably cooler and the FPS issues were gone; I was now receiving 60 FPS .

I'll be sharing comparisons of the Mac's Chrome and Safari browsers using images and videos.

There are numerous videos online that compare the Xbox app, Chrome, and Edge browsers, but no one has ever compared the Mac's Safari browser.

Regarding the performance differences between Safari and Chrome, I would say that Safari is somewhat superior to Chrome in terms of input lag and has less latency overall, but the two browsers are otherwise very comparable. A difference can be seen in the visual quality; on the Safari browser, the image is considerably crisper, the colours are more vivid, and the FPS was most stable.

TO ME SAFARI IS THE CLEAR WINNER.
