I was given this monitor from work as it was used for 2 years before being replaced with an upgrade.
I use two devices on this monitor:
A 2017 15" MBP with an eGPU
An Xbox Series S
I game on both and so I was wondering what settings on both devices would yield the best results for gaming.
For the Series S, I know it's possible to change resolution in the Settings menu to 4K, 1440, 1080, 720, etc. I wanted to know if tinkering with those settings does anything good or bad, in regards to performance or if I should leave it at the 4K setting on my Xbox and assume it's going to give the best performance? I understand only a handful of games run at 4K on the S so I don't know if there's a setting that takes that in to account or if I need to be manually switching depending on the game
As for my MBP, I have read the Dell display can be overclocked to be higher than the 60hz? I wanted to know if that would be something worth looking in to and how to go about doing it. I took a brief look online at some guides and it seems the program to do this is Windows-only. I have an old Windows notebook I could use to download the app and do the process of OCing but do those settings remain saved on the monitor or will those settings only stick if I use the Windows machine I used to OC it?
