XBox Plex App stutters when playing original, but works smoothly if I have force it down a notch

It is weird. If I play an episode at 1080 on the XBOX App, then it stutters and has problems. If I force it to 720 then smooth as a duck landing!

There is no network issues (playing from local plex server) and if I chromecast the same episode, in 1080, no problems. It clearly points to an issue with the XBOX Plex app.

Anyone else noticed differences in the XBOX app?
