Context: Owner of Nitro, I usually stream games to my friends over discord, never faced any kind of issues, running a 3080 with a 12700k and 32gb ddr5, so yeah, machine is no issue whatsoever during Win 10.
After updating to Win 11, all my streams had the "reduced stream quality", and went from streaming source (1440p) @ 60fps, to 720 @ 30fps, and some games would not even work at all (Guardians of the Galaxy, no exclusive fullscreen mode)
Nothing was being successfully streamed. So after bashing my head throughout 4 days, I landed on a fix for my side on this
I did several things at once, so I'm not exactly sure which one dealt with the thing but here I go:
- Disabled windows 11 game mode
- Uninstalled xbox apps using this info, Instead of reducing prio and bla bla, I straight uninstalled 2 of the 3 listed there.
- Completely uninstalled discord, like, removing everything as stated here
- Installed the PTB version of discord from here, go to "Feeling experimental?"
After those 4 things I tried again, and voila! Stream quality was up up again and working flawlessly.
I presume that the discord uninstall and then PTB version did the trick.
