I'm not too bright about all this stuff. I bought a 6700xt this week. I like it. It was 700 canadian. It is what it is.
But after poking around, it seems to be a cousin to the PS5 one, although that has 16 gb's of Vram compared to the 12 in mine. So how can they give the GPU with more memory - and then all the stuff around it to make a decent gaming PC - for less than just this videocard? I know there's a GPU crisis, but PS5 and xbox don't have stock either. I just find this a little confusing. I know the next cycle of cards will come around in 10 months and these consoles will be left behind, performance wise, but it still doesn't sit right.
For the record, I quite like this card. It's a Xfx, which I had never really paid attention to, but I'm a fan of them now. The card is so well built, runs cold, memory junction never hits 75, performs faster than the reference and at 720 canadian wasn't too much more expensive, if at all, I mean fuck if I know what the AMD card sells at in stores. Mines slower than this 5700(non xt!) though, 51.5 - 47.5, almost 5 mh/s, yeesh, but oh well, I bought it to be my main midgrade card for my personal PC. Was just so sick of trying to find a new card with a warranty, not my first pick but I'm ok with it
