Seeing so many complaints online and genuinely cannot understand why. Especially when those complaining haven't even played the games. I don't understand this "Team Ninja hates Itagaki" bullshit either. No, they don't. His games are locked to Xbox consoles. We won't see Gaiden, Black, and Gaiden II on PlayStation, Switch, or PC, and we won't see DOA3, 4, or the two Xtreme games on there either.
Anyway, I enjoyed the co-op modes. They were a great place to train. They played no part in what made the games so special though. I'm also pretty sure that they received a mixed reception as well and hardly anyone played them. People HATED that the AI companion in Sigma 2 was useless on Mentor and above, and the trophy grind in Razor's Edge's SOTW was insane.
I've waited since 2012 on a new Gaiden. They could release this in 720/30 and I wouldn't care. The Master Collection is just a way to introduce new players to the series and drum-up enough hype and attention to warrant another game. I can excuse some things.
Oh, and to new players, there's nothing wrong with Sigma and Sigma 2. Don't pay attention to the console war stupidity that you read online. They're solid games!
Sigma and Sigma 2 have additional characters and chapters that the original Xbox versions don't. Whereas the Xbox originals have blood, gore, and numerous items and costumes that aren't inlcuded in the PS3 ports. Try to play both versions to get the complete gameplay experience.
