Alright so I’ve always wanted to build a gaming PC but never had the means to do so.. well now thanks to a buddy of mine I have a load of PC parts but no case (and a few other things)
So I know a lot already thanks to the internet (thank christ) but I have several questions and google can’t answer all of them without extensive digging.. so I’m hoping I get some use out of asking the kind people in this subreddit for advice. Here is what I’m working with at the moment!
((planning on selling some old PS2 and Xbox games to get extra cash within this month or next so we will see how that goes. Currently my budget is $160 and I have decided on getting a mid case seeing as how I’m on a budget and plan on flipping this computer down the road anyways/have no need for a bigger tower currently.. though I would enjoy one later on))
•750w PSU
•Intel i5 cpu
•2 4gb “ripjaws” RAM sticks= 8 GB of RAM
•A crappy 2gb gpu (plan on getting a better one but I have no idea if I can dual run that and a 3gb or greater one I found on ebay for cheap or what. would love advice on this
•An ATX msi B75A-G43 mobo
•A Hitachi 500 GB Hard Drive (I know SSD would be better for load time but it’s not as big a priority at the moment as my gpu is)
•And finally a “Cooler Master” with 2 fans. Hunky bit of metal.. also could do with an upgrade but, again, it’s fine for now.
I also recently found a very good Microsoft keyboard at a thrift store for dirt cheap and a mousepad for a dollar.. all I really need now are a monitor, mouse, new gpu and case. Would love any tips or ideas on where to go from here as I have been spending a lot of time daily trying to figure out how to make this all work haha. I would rather not get a case that has tempered glass because I feel that I’d end up breaking it somehow.. and I’m not in any dire need of running my games in 1080p just yet. 720 or less would be just fine for me.
