Crossplay-Join failed (PC to non-dedicated XBOne session) Help?

From what I gather, this is a very common issue but I can't find a definite answer...so here goes.
I got the Windows store (PC) version of ARK so i could play with my friends (XB One), but everytime they invite me or I try to join the game off of them, join fails. Their sessions don't show in the join session browser either. I already tried opening the firewall ports , Using a VPN and accessing my router's NAT settings, and none of those fixes worked.

Any other known fixes I could try?

On another note: Why is the max resolution 1280 x 720? It's 2020...y'all couldn't atleast get it to 1080p? 720 in fullscreen mode looks terrible on a 1440p monitor :P
