Filler content. Red dot on the slim model makes it look like a terminator. What happened to the sphere Xbox 720?
Let me start by saying that crossplay is one of the best thing that happened to gaming in recent years. The ability to play with your friends regardless of the platform is great. I honestly hope every game will include some sort of crossplay eventually.
However, crossplay MUST be optional in every mode.
I and most of my friends switched from PC to console gaming because we enjoy the slower-paced (no 720 spin headshots in 0.1 sec), more fair gameplay where everyone has similar hardware, use controller, can't tinker with settings to get an unfair advantage or cheat in general. On console, it's just a totally different experience that I love.
With multiplayer being free-to-play, I expect a very similar situation to COD WARZONE. Crossplay in COD WARZONE is FORCED. You can't turn it off (it can only be turned off in arena modes) Since the game is so popular, cheats are extremely easy to get and some are impossible to detect. There is not much accountability here. Of course, there's a massive advantage of M&K setup and other things PC brings to the table. For these reasons, COD WARZONE on Xbox is destroyed. It's not fun.
Now before anyone says "Learn to play!", "they're just better than you!", "There are console players that stomp over PC players, "mouse & keyboard, ultra-wide, 240 fps, etc don't give any advantage ". That's all right. Maybe I do need to play, maybe they are better, maybe the controller is better than the mouse, but it doesn't matter. I still want to have the OPTION to turn it off. I still want to have that console experience.
Some Q&A
But I want to play with all my friends on other platforms!
That's great! That's why crossplay/cross input device should be OPTIONAL
What about social modes?
Social modes are about having FUN. You still get EXP in social modes, you still unlock stuff, the match still must be fair. Playing against people who have a clear advantage IS NOT FUN. Make it OPTIONAL in social modes too (I'm looking at you, Gears of War 5!!!)
But I just want to get into a match fast and it's faster with crossplay.
That's great! That's why you can leave a crossplay on. I don't care if I want a little longer if it's a fair match.
In short: Please let us choose CROSSPLAY/CROSS INPUT DEVICE as a GLOBAL option that takes effect in ALL MODES
EDIT ABOUT OTHER GAMES:
COD WARZONE - Forced crossplay in Warzone mode. Can't turn it off. Awful
Sea of Thieves (first-party) - after years of asking, they've added a "PREFER XBOX PLAYERS" option which doesn't guarantee that you'll play vs xbox only.
Gears of War 5 - you can only turn off crossplay in ranked modes. The rest of the game forces you to play against PC, which is NOT fun for many.
We know that the game will come to ps4 and Xbox one, but will it come to Switch? As I think it could do well there and the game is pretty optimised so I think it would be able to run Splitgate at 720 60fps
Certs are:
My store if you would like to help fund a small giveaway soon (I have 20c rn):
hey guys, I had noticed my 2nd HDMI input port is giving me issues when trying to play high bandwidth 4k UHDR content.
I have an apple 4k tv hooked up to that input and I used to run the highest resolution possible on it (dolby, HDR 10, 1080 UHDR, etc) but today it will only set itself to no higher than 720p SDR. I switched in my other apple 4k tv and even a high bandwidth cable that I had laying around and it's still giving me the same issue. When I try to pick a higher resolution than 720, the screen flickers and goes in and out of signal and then quits trying to land on a higher resolution and settles on 720 SDR.
I got an extended warranty through the retailer and I'm still within the warranty period and I am trying to figure out that if they can't figure out what is wrong with it, that they will most likely try and replace the whole tv with another model if they don't have a x900f in stock. so I guess I have two questions: 1) what would be the modern day equivalent Sony tv to my x900f? and 2) has anyone else experienced a problem where one of their high bandwidth HDMI inputs started failing on them and not performing to its high bandwidth capabilities?
PS: I run an xbox one x on the other high bandwidth input (HDMI 3) and it seems to be running at its normal 4k capability. All items are checked off on the Xbox's 4k checklist in the settings, as well.
Damn. It’s so awesome.
I mucked around with HDMI direct to my TV but amazingly after some work the Steam Link app is a far more streamlined experience.
Everything can be managed from remote controls, or with a wireless Xbox controller.
Now my MacBook Pro running Bootcamp is tethered to my router, and Apple TV also connected via cable. TV set to game mode. Remote play set to beautiful. And I just have this amazing lag free console like experience.
I even have my Bluetooth headphones connected to the Apple TV so it’s just such a chill wireless couch setup.
Granted my library being on a 2.5 inch spin up drive does take some time to load, I actually went and bought a T7 SSD this weekend, but had a pretty bad experience with it. Real slow while writing, and also didn’t seem stable running games. So I returned it and will just put up with the slow load times for now.
My laptop from 2017 is showing its age on games like ACOrigins, but running that in 720 is an ok fix.
Otherwise I kinda can’t believe I had almost all the tools lying around my house to just plug this all in and get it setup, once I thought about it a bit. Destiny 2 is a riot also and can’t believe I can just jump into that for free.
Anyway, feels like a nice PC gaming renaissance for me.
So, thanks Valve, for Steam Link :)
Hi all, so I'm now going round in circles and need help deciding.
Long story short I need a 40-43inch max (so it can fit on my desk, can't be any bigger) to go with my Xbox / PS4 (and eventually PS5 / XSX) and watch the occasional Netflix / youtube. I have a max budget of £500/550. Ideally I need a VA panel (better blacks) not too fussed about viewing angles as I'll be sitting straight on. Has to be 4K and HDR.
I was going to go for a Samsung 43Q60R or 43Q60T (slightly worse somehow) but they're impossible to get hold of now (I have looked !) I've been to different TV shops but they all show 720 feeds and the lighting is just awful in shops to judge anyway.
I have a main LG OLED in the front room and need a gaming screen with the best blacks possible, problem is manufacturers don't care about 40inch anymore and put all their tech starting with 50inch so really out of luck for a FALD / HDR / VA TV in 40/43 size.
What are my options ? I just don't want to spend £500 on a TV that has light bleeds or horrendous black levels that look grey.
Any help much appreciated. Thank you
I’ve known about LightStream for a while, and now I see they’ve got 1080/30 for $16~ a month for Twitch. Has anyone here tried it yet? I don’t have the setup yet for a PC/cap card, I’ll be streaming straight from my Xbox One X - so $16/month is fine for the foreseeable future, but I’d love to here some reviews from anyone here that’s currently using it. I know 720/60 will probably work better as well, so if anyone has that option any info would be appreciated.

I am trying to transfer games to the xbox with FTP. The files transfer fine until some files keep failing. Does anyone know how i can fix this issue?
Error: File transfer failed after transferring 1 310 720 bytes in 19 seconds
this is the error i keep getting
Note: I’m gonna try to keep this as civilized as possible
I realize this is an xbox subreddit and I am probably gonna get downvotes but I feel like I should get this out. Lately I’ve been thinking about what next gen console I should buy. Xbox Series X or the PS5. Both are great consoles. But it just seemed like PS5 bought me more than xbox which is why I think I’m going with PS5. I’ll tell you why I chose this. Aesthetics: The PS5 looks very sleek and modern, with a very cool futuristic look. Xbox however is a literal black box. I know people on this subreddit like to do art on that, but if Xbox wasn’t sitting on their ass and actually made it look more appealing, more people would be interested.
Exclusives: Alright let’s be honest here. The Xbox exclusives f***ing suck. PS5 absolutely dominates this category, as they have the best exclusives. Some great ones (from gameplay and reviews) are Last Of Us I and II, God of War, Detroit: Become Human (so good I got it on PC). What the hell does Xbox have? Forza?!? The only thing I can think of is Halo, which by the way, Microsoft absolutely is disappointing their fans by not releasing little to no information on Infinity. They don’t have any standout games to me.
The Biggest Reason Why PS5 is Absolutely Killing It Over Xbox:
Xbox is always striving to become the best... at graphics. They focus on the things people want than what they need in a video game. I don’t care if the Xbox is 16K Res, I only need 1080 or for heaven’s sake 720 HP. They spend too much time making a powerful console, yet they don’t even know how to use the power they have. Sure it’s the best performing console, but if I wanted top notch graphics, I’d use a gaming computer.
Xbox really lost their own power that gave them the ability to make a great console. Maybe in the future I’ll change my mind.
I have tried so many things but whenever I check the 4K option on my xbox one x, the TV goes black. I tried with a monitor (also 4K) and still goes black. it worked before and it works on 1080 and 720.
I purchased a capture card which includes HDMI OUT, HDMI IN, USB 3.0, LINE IN, MIC IN, & AUDIO OUT (earphone).
So my setup is HDMI IN (TV) to HDMI OUT (capture card). HDMI OUT (Xbox) to HDMI IN (capture card). USB 3.0 (capture card) to USB 3.0 (MacBook). LINE IN (capture card) to USB (MacBook). Mic IN (Not sure, capture card came with a dual 3.5mm adapter. Maybe goes from capture card to Xbox controller?) AUDIO OUT (I just attached my gaming headset to the to audio out.
I use 1280x720 @30fps.
I started recording and my in-game shooting audio was not in sync with the movements in game. I was able to hear the in-game chat through the recording and my headset. However, I could not speak through my mic since it’s attached to the capture card. Nothing is attached to my controller. The recording seems very choppy and I tried to delete stuff on my Mac to make it faster but even with 720 and 30 it doesn’t look so good.
Hi sorry I’ve been trying to solve an issue regarding vermintide two. Ive spent the better half of two hours trying to fix my graphics for my Xbox one. Is the release day Xbox just not capable of running/rendering vermintide 2 with good graphics. I mean I can sit and stare at a corpse for a solid 15 seconds before it renders clothing and etc. plus the entire thing has a fuzzy haze. I can run Battle field Five and the game is gorgeous yet Vermintide two looks super bad.
Setting I’ve tampered with for no success include but no limited to: tv aspect (3:4) color, resolution, 1080 v 720, backlighting ,dynamic coloring, sharpness, and brightness.
My theory is either my tv is not able to run graphics due to 3:4 aspect ratio or my Xbox is just too old/Xbox one is garbage overall. This was a day one release Xbox so no Xbox s and etc. the standard run of the mill Xbox.
Thank you in advance for any comments
Yes, it is a fridge. Yes, it can be described as bland. But, if it is not a marvel of thermal engineering, you clearly have not done your research. You may recall a Linus Tech Tips video where the channel built an off-brand Xbox Series X using the ultra-small NZXT H1 PC case, which clocks in at 829.9 cubic inches, while the Xbox Series X comes in at 459 cubic inches, more than 50% smaller. The Xbox Series X is not a mock PC, and nearly not as big as you think it is. The size comes down to two Gamecubes stacked on top of each other, and, with a mock comparison pictured here, it actually looks awfully small. Here are some more size comparisons (important one). The PS5 is a big boy, with technically inferior hardware. It is impressive that the XSX was able to be so small, especially knowing how much heat these next-gen parts could kick out.
For additional reference, the roughly predicted volume of the PS5 is 549.2 cubic inches, which is bigger than the XSX as you would think. Here is an interactable 3D model.
Kudos to Xbox engineers!
Sorry in advance for my ignorance.
I've had an HD60Pro for about 4 years and every time windows updates it stops working and I have to play with the software forever to fix the "no signal" issue.
I havent been able to fix it for over a week of trying to make it work on my ps4, switch or Xbox one.
As odd as it is I can use a rca to hdmi adapter and my ps2 will show up perfectly fine but has no audio output, so I've come to figure it has to be settings somewhere that got messed up and that the hardware hasn't failed.
Its odd that there is no pass through to my TV either, but again my ps2 shows up, so that solidifies that its at least working?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I've uninstalled and reinstalled dozens of times. Both the drivers and streamlabs itself.
EDIT: I just hooked up my Xbox 360 and changed the resolution to 720, and it works... So it's not picking up 1080?
Any resolve for that?
Dad, what is this hands old ps4 controller
Kiddo, let me tell you a story
We had great games, we had the gulag, we experienced Doom 2016, we remembered the hype with GTA V and the green vs purple war
Wait, dad. GTA V? Isnt that the new game coming for the PSX and the Xbox 720?
