So a few years ago I bought a x900e for my living room that I loved, picture was great and I thought so much of it that I bought a smaller one for my bedroom. I normally buy TVs and try to not replace them for many many years at a time if possible.
Unfortunately about a year ago, the tv got some liquid damage from an unknown source and it fried the panel. I’ve been living with a cheap little 49” LG Black Friday special for a year now and it’s killing me.
I’m going back and forth over whether I get the x900f for $999, the B9 from Costco for $1899 (with a $100 Costco gift card and 4 year warranty) or the C9 from Costco (same gift card and warranty).
The main uses are streaming content from amazon, YTTV, Hulu, and Netflix, and very rarely playing a Xbox one X on it. I watch 4K whenever I can, but seeing as though most of what we watch is tv streamed in 720, or 1080 if you’re lucky, up-converting is important to me.
I know this is going to be a biased place to ask, considering it’s an OLED forum, but is the B9 really worth 2x the price of the Sony, and is the C9 worth $250 more? The extra $1150 for the C9 over the x900f won’t kill me, but it’s $1150 that could go towards a quality sound upgrade as well.
