Kodi on XBOX One - Loading from USB Drive Slow. Frustrated, and seriously will give Reddit Gold if this can be solved.

Loading a movie from a USB drive is awfully slow sometimes. It seems the more things I have in a directory, the slower the movie takes to load. I have a drive containing the following directories with the amount of content in each:

4K (Contains 13 Movies)

1080 (Contains 79 Movies)

720 (Contains 26 Movies)

540 (Contains 5 Movies)

480 (Contains 64 Movies)

The 4K and 540 directory movies load up within maybe 2 seconds, but the 1080 and 480 directories take a long time to load (20-30 seconds).

I've tried putting the content onto 3.0 usb flash drives, ssd drives, and a 4TB USB 3.0 external hard drive all with the same results.

VLC loads all the movies up in a 1-2 seconds.

Removed hardware acceleration got rid of the green screen for skipping ahead, but not the load times.

Loaded Kodi onto my external SSD - same issue.

Removed Kodi and Reinstalled it - same issue.

Tried different skins other than the default. Some of the lighter skins out there seemed to make it worse.

I've used Kodi on so many other platforms without this loading issue - can anyone help? I'd prefer to use the Xbox as my sole Kodi platform if possible.
