I am having issues with my HDMI Splitter

Good afternoon gang,

So my current set up is a all my devices (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Fios box) run through a 4K Sony Receiver. The Receiver outputs to my 65" 4K Samsung. I have a 2nd TV on the wall by the bar (1080p). I have an older, cheap 4K splitter so I can mirror the video. When I want to mirror, I need to kick the resolution from my PC down from 4K to 1080. I never used to have a problem with this. All of the wires behind the 65" TV are no more than 12ft. The highspeed HDMI cable going from the splitter to the 1080p TV behind the bar is about 30ft.

I had to tweak my setup over the last few weeks: my launch PS4 died and I got a PS4 Pro. My original Sony 4K receiver could not pass thru the 4K signal so I swapped the receiver with one model newer and it works like a charm.

Problem I am having is this: I went to mirror my pc to both tvs this weekend and even though I kicked the resolution down to 1080 on my PC, the system forced it down to 720. On top of that, there were video, graphical glitches that were on both screens (like a trailing, overburn effect, loss of definition (reminded me of some of the old DOS games lol).

I am not sure what would cause this. Do I need a new, better HDMI splitter? The one I have is 5 years old and was cheap (even though its 4K).

If it is the splitter, would this splitter solve my problem:

from reading the reviews and Q&A, I should be able to leave my PC settings as 4K and it should mirror the correct resolution to each TV. Would it work with the PS4 Pro (so the pro displays 4k on the 65" 4K TV and downscale to 1080p on the bar tv)?

Thanks in advance!!

Ken
