Thoughts on the Vizio Quantum X vs the Sony X950G?

So I'm close to buying a new TV and after some research, I've narrowed my options down to these two TV's in the 65" range. They appear to have the best image quality without jumping up to OLED, which I'm not ready to pay for yet.

I'd love to hear some thoughts on the pros and cons of each from the community. And I'd especially love to hear some feedback from any owners of either model. How are they performing long term? I've heard that Vizio models tend to have high failure rates, any truth to that? How does the local dimming from the Sony compare?

Some notes about my theater needs:

  • Some reviewers don't seem pleased with the Vizio's UI, this doesn't really bother me as I use my Xbox as my main media hub anyway
  • My setup at home is as simple as it gets, just a couch 6' away from the TV, so I don't think I need to worry about getting something with a wide viewing angle
  • My main goal is to get a good set that will last a long time. I don't upgrade TVs frequently, so I'd like this one to last. The unit I'm replacing is a 5-year-old LG that was mid-tier when I bought it, and I'll probably keep this one for 5 years as well. (Consequently, I'm super excited about the jump in quality I'm going to get)

Thanks, and I really appreciate your input!

Edit: Oh, one more thing I wanted to ask about! Can anyone comment on how well they upscale content? I watch a lot of anime, so it would be a big plus if either could handle 1080 and 720 content well.
