Hey guys,
I have an Xbox one S that I think I have narrowed down to a faulty hdmi retimer IC chip. It plays 480p but will not change to 720 or 1080. Looking for a cheap/easy way to get this thing repaired as I don't have the money to send it to microsoft(they basically charge the price of a brand new console before they even diagnose it) From what I've seen in videos you literally just heat the chip, pop it off, and put a new one on and reheat.(I've never done this before but it looks relatively simple) Wondering if anyone knows a cheap hot air gun or maybe how to make something I could DIY to get this thing fixed. I am in Calgary so if you know any places that do this repair for cheap it would also be appreciated. Thanks
